Dragon Box to include BOTH dub tracks?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

I'm not swearing to be rude or anything, don't worry. That's just the way I talk.

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head, here. Nobody lost, everybody WON. So everyone should be HAPPY :D
I'm happy as long as the video quality isn't noticeably different. We all know that one or two hundred kbps won't make a visual difference.

I'm not being a crybaby at all. I know I didn't lose anything with the Dragon Box, but honeslty... it's unnecessary in my opinion. I'm speaking for me only, not one side of the group or the other, but having all three is kind of dumb for the Dragon Box. It would mess with bitrates and encoding, and I would like to have the video at it's highest quality and not be bumped down to have a third option in audio. 2 audios with one being Dub and Japanese is good enough. Like I said before, this is my opinion only, and not speaking for either sides. I don't want to see another breakout of the Hardcore/Casual Dub/Original bullshit again.

No offense to you jjgp1112. I'm not being rude to you, in no way am I doing that. I'm just stating my own personal opinion. We're cool. :D

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

I said the same thing a while back on the Dbox thread.
A lot of people will be importing this set, meaning more people will get to raise a brow to the 'questionable' 2nd English track. I'd just rather not have FUNimation's dub be as laughable as it is already.
Also, video quality. What the hell FUNi, what the hell.

jjgp1112, watch your step, and at least try to be mature about this.

If it effects the quality of the video and Japanese audio tracks, which are supposed to be the major hooks of these releases, then I'd say it's worth worrying about.

If the overall audio isn't any better than the Season Sets, then that cuts my incentive to buy these in half. I'm expecting wonderful video and Japanese audio that actually sounds good enough to be the default track.

Why would someone be MAD that they added a track they arent even going to mess with?

Having all 3 doesnt exclude anyone out of the sale.

Question: Can you read? Doing my best not to be rude and destroy this thread, but seriously, it'd be nice to know if you are able to read. There are a total of eight posts in this thread that flat-out explain their #1 concern with having three tracks.

Very nice! I was going to get them either way but this is a great plus. I'm glad no one was left out and the whining can finally be put to rest.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Agrees with Sparky. We still get the DragonBox footage AND the full Japanese and English tracks.

That about raps it up. :)

I will cry if I pay for a boxset that is supposed to have good quality only to have it suffer due to extra audio tracks.

Yeah, we have a complete release - a DBZ release that EVERYBODY can be satisfied by, not just a portion. So all of this complaining is absolutely retarded. Why should a portion of the fanbase have to be shunned just to make this a better release?

We'll just have to wait and see if the bitrate will suffer. And chances are, it won't. We have no reason to believe that it will or will not look significantly worse, so we should just shut up until we actually SEE IT.

I love the fact that people think that this "possibility" will now make people stop whining or that no one will be mad about it. No matter what happens, there will always be someone complaining. That's just human nature. You can't please everyone.

Let me repeat the main concern since so many people can't seem to understand it: We're concerned that having 3 audio tracks will compromise video quality. The whole point of the Dbox is to have the video in it's purest original form so compromising it for the sake of not one, but two dub tracks is kind of assinine.

Does anyone here have any of the Japanese Dbox discs? Exactly how much disc space did they use up? I seem to remember the DEX podcast saying they had tons of leftover room on the disc. As long as there is room, I don't think anyone will mind having all 3 audio tracks.

Honestly, how likely is it that the video quality is going to suffer because of the extra audio track? As far as technology has come these days it can't be that much of an issue. Plus this is a high profile release so they aren't just gonna botch it up. People should just be happy that we're getting a release everybody can enjoy.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

Yes, but there's still the possiblity that it won't. Why even bother thinking about it? Let's just wait and see. WE'RE not the ones overseeing/doing the encoding, you know.

If I had the setup, I'd do that. If this were Blu-Ray or something, I wouldn't care because I know it wouldn't be an issue.

If it won't affect the video quality then great! If it does make a noticeable difference, then I guess it's still at least leaps and bounds above the Season Sets...
