Exactly. Even if you wished for this, it would only be a facade. It's not real. You can't actually become a Super Saiyan through intense training. You're granted the ability magically without any hard work at all. It's virtually meaningless.TheNamek wrote:Yet another reason to NOT play this game.
Altered qutoe of Vegeta: "Did I miss something? When was it that the transformation to the Legendary Warrior of the Saiyan race was reduced to a HUMAN's play thing?!?" "
You'll see kids running around all the time with golden hair. Whoopdedoo. If it was something only a Saiyan could be, and achieving the status would require you to be a super nerd, and even seeing one would be special, then the game might be pretty cool in that aspect. But Super Saiyan has quite literally been reduced to a humans play thing.
The transformation should be a skill for saiyans ONLY and through very intense training and skill build up.
Super Saiyans Humans and wasnt there girl Nameks in there somewhere?
Is it a Human or a Saiyan in that photo anyways?
This game is stretching out WAY too far. I would have rathered Mr. Toriyama move his focus is a few new post kid buu arcs or a few new movies than this.

You're thinking of the female majin.TheNamek wrote:Super Saiyans Humans and wasnt there girl Nameks in there somewhere?
So far only Earthlings have been revealed to be in the game, so that's presumably an Earthling. There might be a lot of Earthlings with traces of Saiyan blood after 200 years of interbreeding. Is it a Human or a Saiyan in that photo anyways?
@Bura: none of those pictures are working for me.

If gathering the Dragon Balls were as easy as you guys somehow make em out to be, I'd agree with you. We don't even know the difficulty of obtaining them as of yet, but I'd imagine it would be quite perilous and challenging given all the time travel quests, traveling, and grinding trademarked of an MMORPG. In any case, I find it to be an overreaction of what we've been shown so far. I certainly hope it isn't easy as it seems to be made out. I hope there's some sort of set condition aside from gathering the Dragon Balls (like being at the max level cap), then I probably wouldn't have much of a problem with it. Overall, I'm just curiously optimistic, but like most, I don't like the inclusion of the "Super Skill" (unless there's some sort of time limit on it ala Super DragonBall Z), but I'd imagine this is some sort of way of pleasing the Saiyan-holics who weren't looking forward to the game because their beloved race wasn't included.Innagadadavida wrote: Exactly. Saibaman?
Also, I'm pretty sure Super Saiyan is a temporary powerup for battles that goes away fairly quickly. It's the only thing I can think of for why they would include it. If they were just gonna hand it out to players, they wouldn't have killed off the Saiyan race.
I see no reason to worry about n00bs.

So happy this page has a sample of multiple hairstyles for avatars. X3
I hope someone compiles a full gallery of styles/colors at some point.
The google translation (though I don't know how accurate this is) seems to point to the humans in this game as having at least some saiyajin ancestry in them.
I'm not in that field, but, is it even possible for Goku and Vegeta's bloodlines to expand that much in 200 years?

We have absolutely no information on the level required, or how difficult it is to gather the Dragonballs, for all we know you might have to reach the level cap before you can wish to become a Super Saiya-jin, which would take quite a bit of work.Innagadadavida wrote:You can't actually become a Super Saiyan through intense training. So it's a bit too early to pass judgement on this, I think wishing to become a Saiya-jin is a nice way of satisfying fans without screwing with things too much.

The way I see the addition of this "Super Skill" is rather simple in terms of genetics. After 200+ years of their Saiya-Jin DNA being intermingled into the human race, you can essentially look at the ability to turn Super Saiya-Jin as a dormant, recessive gene that some humans might possess.
Think about how hard it was for Gohan and Future Trunks, as half-blooded Saiya-Jin, to turn into Super Saiya-Jin the first time. Couple that with the fact that Pan, as a quarter-blooded Saiya-Jin, never had the ability to turn Super Saiya-Jin at all. Take that Saiya-Jin blood and thin it out over 200+ years, and the amount of humans with diluted Saiya-Jin blood exponentially increases.
Clearly, if a quarter-blooded Saiya-Jin like Pan couldn't harness the power of the Super Saiya-Jin, no human in Age 1000 that might have Saiya-Jin blood could ever hope to...unless they wished for it. So, sensibly, from a plot standpoint, having this "Super Skill" attainable from a wish from Shenlong definitely works.
Personally, humans being able to tap into that small amount of Saiya-Jin blood would have to take a ton of concentration and energy to cause the change. So, I agree that it would make a whole lot of sense to just have it as a brief, last-ditch power-up in battle with a very long recharge time. However, if it can be activated at will, thematically, this works too. Once a character in DBZ finally achieves the state of Super Saiya-Jin, they appear to be able to easily turn it on and off after that point. So, if a human wished for this "Super Skill" in the game, it wouldn't be remotely far-fetched that they could also turn it on and off after that. Either way, the skill should still have a really long recharge time.
At the end of the day, I'm going to be a Namekian, so it doesn't really matter to me.
