But is Dragon Ball Z all that popular anymore? I don't think it would bother that many people, actually. I didn't even notice the voice change (though, the new cast was just imitating the old one).Gozar wrote:My point is that the amount of people angered in 1999 after a cast with a longevity of just 2 years and the amount of people that would be angered today after a decade is far greater in favor of today.
I mean come on, people here are upset over voice replacements in Kai of (in the long run) minor characters. And as they should be. How would you feel if Ryo Horikawa was suddenly replaced in the version that you know and love in favor of, oh let's say Goro Naya (Zenigata from Lupin III)? You'd be pissed off.
I'm not so bothered by voice replacements. If Vegeta had gotten a new voice actor for DBK, that wouldn't be a problem for me 'cause I can always watch DBZ if I want to hear Ryo Horikawa's Vegeta. I think DBZ deserves a high quality English dub and if a new cast is required to make that happen, then that's fine by me.
