Well, it still is Gohan so technically a good guy? My guess is that you need to fight both Gohan and the machine, and the machine probably has control over Gohan...for evil ways I suppose. I guess when you destroy the machine (and defeat Gohan) the gem disappears and Gohan turns back to normal?

My question is who's using the mind control device anyway? Did some evil force like the RR army have traveled back in time for the mere purpose of screwing with some heads?Bura wrote:Well, it still is Gohan so technically a good guy? Possible, weren't there enemies who wore a logo that looked like the one from RR? Maybe it's a whole new evil organisation.Scarz wrote:My question is who's using the mind control device anyway? It seems that the more videos that are revealed, the more confused everyone's getting. I really hope another trailer with story tidbits will be revealed soon. I'd like to know more about the Kaio-shin like dude.

Here are three new videos. This time they show the transformations :

The résistance dies but never gives up.
Soooo if you're a Majin (or whatever they're called) you can transform into... Kid Buu? Well that's a little lame to be honest. I was expecting the Majins to transform into a taller, more menacing, version of themselves not a pre-existing character. Every time I watch a video it raises more questions than answers.LaRésistance wrote:Here are three new videos. This time they show the transformations :

I see the RR army is back. It would been interesting if you can work them but I doubt it.

I guess it makes a certain amount of sense, since Kid Boo was supposed to be the pure form of Buu. So maybe these majin descended from Mister Boo can somehow return to this pure form? Of course, if they're all as strong as the original Kid Boo, that could be rather unfair...Scarz wrote:Soooo if you're a Majin (or whatever they're called) you can transform into... Kid Buu?

Well don't forget there is time travel in this game. I am sure that plays a factor in the presence of so many characters we would not suspect in a "post-Goku" Dragonball world.LeprikanGT wrote:gah this game is messing up the Db universe so bad. If saiyans are dead at this point there should be no oozarus and no super saiyans. If just ANYONE can become one theres no real point in having them exist anymore.

It's been established that Saiyans have interbreed with Earthlings, so that the "human" class in the game refers to Earthlings with Saiyan blood.LeprikanGT wrote:If saiyans are dead at this point there should be no oozarus and no super saiyans. To me it's a video game, or mmorpg to be exact, and they (anyone involved creating the game) changed or added some elements to the story that would work for this type of median. Sometimes what works best for comics and cartoons will not work well for games. Even if that means bumfucking the entire DB logic as we know it. Otherwise it would have been a rather lame mmo in my opinion. If I purchased this game I would want my character to become a Super Saiyan no matter what the "facts" are. I don't care about "half-breeds" or "blood lines," my avatar better damn well become a SS because last time I checked it's a DRAGONBALL game.LeprikanGT wrote:gah this game is messing up the Db universe so bad. If this was an official anime or manga, yeah I would've been pissed off beyond words but since this is a game, I'm willing to look past some flops for the sake of my gaming experience. Besides I don't think it was announced that DBO was canon so it really doesn't it matter what they decided to do with the storyline, as long as it's endearing and fun.
Well now things are starting to make sense to me. But I thought the Majins were there own race of aliens? I didn't know they all originated from Mr. Boo. (By the way I'm referring to the game not the anime or manga)Herms wrote:I guess it makes a certain amount of sense, since Kid Boo was supposed to be the pure form of Buu. One could argue the game is a canon continuation of the manga. Toriyama's involvement with the character/level design and story is evident enough. I also remember seeing some of the manga panels being used in the last video with the Gohan Oozaru. By the way, does anyone know of a release window for the game in Japan?

The one game where you don't (technically) repeat the same story with slight alterations in dialogue over and over again isn't a DB game? Okay, fine with me, DB games are Pokemon stagnant.LeprikanGT wrote:I'm counting it as a 'side project game' since if it was a db/dbz game we would be able to BE the characters, not hop back in time to see what they did.

It's been mentioned in a few promotional articles and materials for DBO that the majin race originated from Mister Boo (one of the articles was mistranslated to say that Mister Popo created them). The exact details are still unclear, but one of the DBO previews showed a history book that said Mister Boo took a lover in the year 790, so presumably all the majin in DBO are descended from Boo and this lover.Scarz wrote: Well now things are starting to make sense to me. Uh... I-I don't under... Wha... fuc... Lover? Lover? But Boo fused with Uub in GT permanently right? Even if he somehow separated from him who would fuck a pink blob?! It's just... UGH! MY HEAD! The confusion is back!Herms wrote: The exact details are still unclear, but one of the DBO previews showed a history book that said Mister Boo took a lover in the year 790, so presumably all the majin in DBO are descended from Boo and this lover.
