Podcast Episode 200 Celebration / Party / Something?
DATE: Saturday, December 5th
TIME: 5 pm until we decide to leave
LOCATION: Sapporo Sushi & Steak House (bar/restaurant; website), 375 George Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901
ACTIVITIES: talking, eating, drinking
PARKING: meters on side streets, parking garages
MASS TRANSIT: available via New Brunswick NJ Transit train station (Eastern Corridor line; not all express trains stop in New Brunswick)
ACTUAL (FROM THE TRAIN STATION) DIRECTIONS:
Coming from New York, get off in New Brunswick (dur). It's the station after Edison. If you wind up at Princeton Junction, you went one stop too far or got on an express train that doesn't stop at New Brunswick. Don't be silly.
Get off the train and walk on the platform to where the back of the train was. There's an elevator and staircase to take you down to the street. Take an immediate right and walk underneath the bridge that the train just came over.
You're now on George Street. Yes, this is the street the bar/restaurant is on. Just start walking straight down this road. You'll walk across Albany Street in front of you. You'll eventually need to get on the left side of the street, so either cross now or after Albany. See that Starbucks? That's the side you want to be on. Keep walking down the street. You'll pass Starbucks, a Chipotle being put in, cross Church Street, and you're basically there. It's kinda to the left of that bus stop right there. Burger King is immediately after it.
REALLY need to iron out exactly who's coming. Listing people alongside where they have indicated their intent, mostly for my own personal records:
CONFIRMED:

NOT CONFIRMED, BUT INTERESTED:
The following people haven't given me anything solid enough to go off of, but say they're interested:
- Gozar (Forum)
- Krakabeast (Forum)
- Patrick (Facebook)
- Harrison (Facebook)
- Velasa (Forum)
- Shigeru (Forum)
- FUNimationRocks (Forum)
PLEASE CONFIRM AS SOON AS YOU CAN. I'd like to give them a heads-up on how many people to expect, but I've already told them ~20 or so, which seems likely.

(original post below)

So recently there was a discussion about a meet-up in NYC. I really would have loved to have attended, but the proposed date was actually the date I was heading out of town on vacation, and then it seemed like no-one really wanted to commit to that date, anyway.
So let's try something else.
Episode 200 of our podcast is coming up, theoretically scheduled to come out on Sunday, December 6th if all goes according to plan (like, ya' know, if the Earth doesn't spontaneously combust and cause us to miss a week). There's a chance we may have some out-of-town guests in the area around that time, so I was thinking... hey... half of this board lives in New Jersey... why don't we all rent out a private room at a bar or restaurant somewhere and have a little party?
I would be thinking something in the mid-New Jersey range of areas. Maybe on Friday, December 4th or Saturday, December 5th? What kind of interest is there? Are you over 21? Would Jeff's scary face frighten you away?

Don't worry about it. I'd rather have more people that are under 21 than no people and just Jeff and I hanging out at bar by ourselves. OK, fine. Meri would come, too, probably.mysticgoten wrote:Ugh, I'm not over 21.

I too would give NeptuneKai's right arm to be able to go, but that really isn't possible, unless I manage to finally perfect my teleportation technique.

I want to go! ...But I live in Washington...... Maybe there should be a get together in the Northwest. Though, it wouldn't be near as cool as a super special awesome podcast get together...
I hope there'll be a video of the get together, at least. 'Cause I want to see it if I can't be there.

Is New Jersey, like, the DB-Fan capital of America or something?
Can I get a few cheers for the Hoosiers on the board? (Kendamu is the only one I can think of right now...)
