Do have to ask what did you guys think of Mr. Sabat's Mr. Popo? Myself I like it more than the Japanese because he sounds more intelligent. The Japanese voice coupled with how he looks is something I'm not too fond of, though guess that's obvious from me.

Listening to both voices, I find myself being insulted twice.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Ha ha yeeaaaaah I can see why some would have an issue with his Japanese voice. I don't mind it but I'm not holding it against anybody who does.

Woah woah woah. Woah.

The literal reincarnation of King Piccolo does not share a voice actor with him, yet every single male related to Goku (save for Raditz) has the same voice?

Well, Piccolo Daimao was voiced by Takeshi Aono, who voiced Kami. It sorta makes sense. I guess they wanted to go in a different direction with the new Piccolo, but I'm not sure why.

Hell, whatever led to the decision, we got Toshio Furukawa out of it, and the man is a legendary voice talent.

In Piccolo's case, it made sense to have Furukawa voice him considering Aono's a pretty old guy. I just couldn't imagine him doing MaJunior. He doesn't have the versatility of Nozawa based of what I've heard of his other vocal performances. Than again, he does the voice of Mihawk in One Piece, so who knows?

Eh... Sabat's Popo didn't sound like he was being demeaned or made into a Poke-Sambo...
On the other hand, his "Oh, Kami!" is . . . a bit awkward. Then there's the bit in GT where Supreme Kai is dousing him and Dende with the Sacred Water. . . I think that speaks for itself (so I should probably find a youtube clip... ).

Hm. Yes. Well.

So far as natural voices go...
Whenever this comes up, I actually think of Toshio Furukawa's Piccolo, in that his delivery (not so much the voice... ) tends to strike me as eerily similar to McNeil's or Sabat's at times. :?

I'm fully offended by Mr. Popo in general.

No, it's not what you think. I am actually a genie.

That's for the candy industry to comment on.

What are you getting at :p

The other way around has both Piccolo's sharing a voice with Shen Long, Yamcha, Mr. Popo, Vegeta, Zarbon, and others. That door swings both ways, and at least in the Son family you can claim a genetic component (especially since they'd all count as low-class Saiyans anyway).

Oh my god, do you remember the random black lady Kuririn gets a marker from when trying to find Muten's rock in early Dragon Ball? WTF is with that design? If the show wasn't so old, I'd want to know who to call and complain.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

She definitely has a nose, and her skin is a good deal lighter than her hair. Try adjusting your monitor a bit. :D

On the plus side at least the Funi dub gave her a normal voice, unlike the incredibly racist voice they gave to Killa.

Yeah no idea, you'd think they'd want to avoid doing something like that. Then again they have no problem making Recoome sound like a stereotypical literal retard more and more as each new game comes out sooo....

Not quite racist is the voice matches what the character would probably sound like but literal LOL moment at the pic of Krillin and the woman.

I disagree that that's how you fully pick a voice for a character but fair enough.
