Shonen Jump offering DragonBall manga for free download!?
No, I don't think so, cause it's not anything I can buy, and it's not anything I share with anybody, so I don't make them lose money. What they don't want is for people to be able to basically have the manga for free without having to pay for the series, hence the reason why you need their browser, which prevents most screen captures and self-destructs after a while. But as far as I'm concerned, I did buy all of the original (retranslated) Tankobon in my country, and on top of that, I buy the Kanzenban collection currently released here. So not only am I not making them lose money, but I guess I'm actually giving them twice the money since I'm buying the manga twice, so I guess they wouldn't mind that I keep the digitally colored pages with original text on my computer for reference (I can't even understand the original text since I don't read Japanese, but it's interesting having it anyway for reference)alakazam^ wrote:I wonder, isn't this against the forum rules? You're not really supposed to download the chapters, this must be why you're supposed to install Jumpland's browser.
It's really a bonus for fans to keep the colored pages, not something wrong as long as you don't give them to somebody who DOESN'T have the manga, cause then it WOULD make them lose money they should rightfully earn! At least that's how I see it.
Thanks for the idea. I probably won't take the time to recolor them, I just use them to illustrate the folders, but I might download these scans you're talking about in due time. Thanks!SSj_Rambo wrote: Yeah, sadly those chapters simply didn't come with title pages. Strangley, Shounen Jump seems to be randomly skipping some of the title pages, probably due to laziness or forgetfulness. Yeah, I think it sucks, because I use the title pages too. What you can do is use the nice hi-res scans of the Kanzenban title pages by Hujio over at Kanzentai, and if you really want to, just re-color his scans with the color scheme used in the manga chapters.
I thought so, my first idea when I saw they were missing was to open my Kanzenbans to see what they would look like, and I was able to find chapter 12, but not the others! What you said does confirm that only chapter 12 is missing, as the others simply don't exist. Thanks for the info!Adamant wrote:According to Kanzentai, chapter 13 and 18 didn't originally have title pages. Chapter 12 did, however, so who knows why it wasn't included.
Too bad, I wanted the whole series in digital manga colors, but hey, I can understand why they wouldn't undertake such a long commitment!Adamant wrote:Well, it's official now, I guess. Recolored Dragonball has ended, and only new Bleach chapters are scheduled for November.
Guess the digital series ends at a proper place, ending with the last chapter of the first quest of the Dragon Ball, covering the first arc of the series.
Yeah, I was fearing it since noticing the last October chapter was 23, a very good place for ending the series, and when Bleach chapters for November started being posted on the site without any more Dragon Ball chapters appearing, it started getting more and more likely there wouldn't be more. Hopefully they're just taking a break between arcs, though.
English-speakers will have a dull month, Bleach #3 is the only chapter you're getting in November.

Nice, I thought that it will run only with Pilaf arc. to 21st Tenkaichi Budokai max. so I'm actually pleased))
For others, you can be happy, because this is the length of the series that Toriyama originally planned.....
It was supposed to be one-shot mangato end of Pilaf arc, so we got that + fully colored

Which is where most of the censorship is so, yeah, its very goodVenomSymbiote wrote:Well, it may be over, but at least we do, in fact, have an uncensored and full colored version of early Dragonball now. Which is fantastic.
But I do find it peculiar that on the site there is an image of a fully colored Goku from a Dragonball chapter after the 22nd.

It seems this project has come to a close.
It's been a great endeavor, and I want to thank all of you for your support. I wouldn't have done the entire run if you all hadn't been here to enjoy it, so thank you!
23 chapters of full-colored fun!
Yeah, I realized that after flipping through their Picture Archive. It would have been amazing if there had in fact been chapter covers made for these chapters, and they were released here for the first time ever! But alas, I guess not. I remember Herms was planning on picking up the original Weekly Jump issues that contained these chapters while he was in Japan, but I don't know if anything came of it...Cold Skin wrote:I thought so, my first idea when I saw they were missing was to open my Kanzenbans to see what they would look like, and I was able to find chapter 12, but not the others!
