So I assume the Japanese DBOX had more kbps, then? Not sure exactly what it is though.

I would love to see someone walk down with balloons and cookies. Also one of those giant cards.

Hunt down Justin Cook while you're there, tackle him, praise him, then ask him to order a proper redub/recast for the 20 anniversary of the property being brought over in 5-6 years.

I think I could cry.

Never thought I'd see the day that we'd get a book released by FUNimation mentioning Son Goku voiced by Masako Nozawa and Kuririn voiced by Mayumi Tanaka.

Can't wait 'til I have my hands on it :D

Yup, it says Piccolo Daimao. :D

I thought it was unfair to list only Japanese seiyuu, but whatever.

We now know that Funimation's definition of hardcore is Japanese. Sort of sad but true...

This is a masterful release. Hopefully these releases won't go out of print too quickly; it'll be some time before I can scrape the cash together for these.

Is there any reason why DBOX would go out of print? This is not limited-edition preorder-only release. :p

Wait...so the Dragonbook is just a big book about the discs [like the orange brick booklets] or does it have more Z info and such?

Yeah I am sure they will make plenty. Its not like the JP ones where it was made to order.

Does anyone know if the 5.1 dub track was re-mixed for the Dragon Box? The mixing was pretty poor in the early Season Sets.

One would assume that there is more info than just episode summaries and character biographies, as shown by the picture of the "fashion" pages. :P

It seems to be a pretty straight copy of the original Japanese Dragonbook, so it should be mostly episode summaries with a bit of bonus material thrown in.

Kanzentai has a list of the original book's contents, I would assume this one contains about a fourth of this.

(hey, does the English Dragonbook contain the "greatest quotes" section? One of the cooler sections of the original)

Oh... My... God... IT'S OUT!!

God, I wish I could afford it now, otherwise I'd ask Right Stuff to ship it now, but alas, I have to let it come with the new One Piece DVD... Oh well, I'll have it in less than a Month... but still, AMAZING!!

Can we get some Side-to-Side comparison shots up in here?!

Can it be confirmed that the jp track is only 96kbps in quality? If so, that is a fairly significant and disappointing loss...

Wow, the boxset looks about as nice as expected so far. And that's awesome.

One big warning right off the bat. If ANYONE starts bitching about the lack of dub music, I will personally edit their post in a blunt and possibly-obnoxious manner to get rid of it. Opinions are fine and whatever, but I'm not letting another thread get derailed by that crap and make me lock it. So if you don't like that aspect of the DBox, then keep it to yourself. Okay? Alrighty then.

So what aspects of the set are we still in the dark about and looking for info on? I'm thinking audio and video quality, right?

Haseowolf, most media players will have some easy way to tell you the audio bitrate. What program are you using?

As for taking screencaps, I've heard the best and easiest thing is VLC, but if PhotoBucket's causing problems in quality (I'm not sure how it would do that), then I'm not sure else how to host them.

Why did the original Dragon Ball sets go out of print?

Yeah, there are quite a few nice bonuses in the Dragonbooks (at least in the Japanese ones).

Op, would it be possible for you to rip a small clip from any episode? I would like to be able to determine the exact audio quality.
