I kind of see it like this. That Bulma started developing a crush on him out of nowhere. But then again she checks out lots of guys but he also happened to be staying with her so obviously there was more chance for stuff to happen. Anyways, I thought it appeared she had a crush on him in the filler before Goku got back from outer space a year after beating Freeza. And that Vegeta is not used to women and Bulma with her flirting and same equal stubborn pigheadedness as Vegeta brought out another side of him.Jon Jon wrote:You know, I always envisioned Vegeta and Bulma getting it on like this.
Vegeta is frustrated with training and randomly becomes sexually frustrated. He then just forces himself on Bulma. He accepts and likes it.

Ooookay, let's save our sexual DBZ fantasies for the fanfiction, alright people? No need to post them here (although I'm probably guilty of doing this too).saiyangerl wrote:I kind of see it like this. That Bulma started developing a crush on him out of nowhere. Something like that. I figured that Bulma was crushing on Vegeta (like she does with a lot of dudes) despite her dating Yamcha. Vegeta noticed that she was flirty with him and was like, "You have a boyfriend? So what. He's a weakling, anyway. What's he gonna do?" and took advantage of the situation.

Yo! Cal's the name. Nice to meet you!
Lover of all that is pure and fun in the worlds of Dragon Ball, Jim Henson and so forth!

Then Bulma and Vegeta's is stronger. She married a serial killer and stayed married with him after he had killed hundreds of women at the Tenkaichi Budokai.mAcChaos wrote:I always thought Goku and Chi Chi's relationship was pretty strong. Goku, on the other hand, hurts noone but his family, mostly.
Y'know, taking care of other people's children rather than his own.
Chichi has got a helluva amount of patience. I get why she is "bitchy". I would be if I married a douche.

Surprisingly, I'm gonna say BulmaXYamcha. I know you're gonna talk about cheating and all that shit, but remember how it was back in DB?
Yamcha, even though he was *ahem* "Popular" with the girls, never did cheat on Bulma. Sure, she got mad that other girls talked to him, but there was never any evidence given that Yamcha was actually doing anything. It was most likely just Bulma's ego, imagination, and greed all clashing together. I actually think of this as how it happens in the Saiyan Arc and Androids Arc.

The best relationship in the series is Goku and Grandpa Gohan.
Out of the kindness of his heart Gpa Gohan 'adopted' Goku and trained him, even though he was a handfull until he hit is head, and still loved him even after he stepped on him as an oozaru.
And even after Goku knew Gpa Gohan wasnt in the four star ball he still held a special place for it.
So thank you Gpa Goahn for Dragonball and Dragonball Z.

"Serial Killer" doesn't even begin to describe what Vegeta is. More like genocidal mass-murderer who killed more people than Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and Vlad the Impaler combined times a hundred-thousand. The fact that Bulma, knowing that, would willingly stay with him and allow her children around him makes Vegeta/Bulma the most dysfunctional relationship in the series.Godo wrote:Then Bulma and Vegeta's is stronger. As for best relationship, that depends on what you mean by 'best.' If you mean most normal or stable, that would probably be Gohan and Videl. They seem to be a generic, nuclear family when GT rolls around.
And if you're talking non-romantic relationships, then the friendship between Goku and Kuririn is the most loyal and devoted one in the series. I mean, the only time throughout all of Dragonball we ever saw Goku actually get genuinely pissed-off was when Kuririn was murdered.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

It looks like most of the people seem to be focusing on couple relationships, so I'm gonna be diverse and pick a friendship.
Best relationship - Son Gohan & Son Goten. Son Gohan is an excellent mentor to Son Goten, not just in terms of training, which is why Goten looks up to his older brother as a role model. I'd say they have the best sibling relationship in the entire series.
Then there's Goku and Kuririn, who have been best friends for years. Goku went crazy with rage when Kuririn got killed and it was only revenge in his mind when he pursued after Tambourine.
There's also some humour in Goku and Kuririn's friendship, like when Goku jokes that he's taller than Kuririn despite him being a year younger. It's nice to have that in a friendship.
Anyway, as for the couples. It's clear Toriyama doesn't put much depth into the relationships. Let's see...why did Goku and Chi-Chi get hitched again? Oh yeah, Chi-Chi fancied Goku for some retarded reason and Goku "promised" to get married to her. God knows how the hell Chi-Chi managed to get Goku to sire him two kids. Chi-Chi had to be a dominatrix.
Vegeta and Bulma? That's barely even explained. "Bulma saw him setting alone, then it just..happened." Come on, Toriyama, love stories aren't like that...
Kuririn and #18? It takes one, yes, one kiss for Kuririn to form an unhealthy infatuation with #18. And #18 goes along with it, just 'cos the horny bastard removed her bomb.
Gohan and Videl? Like many others have said, probably the most normal couple of the series. Maybe if we saw more of their relationship, or how they got it on in the Boo Saga, I'd be able to call them a "real" couple in Dragon Ball standards. Yet they're not. It's literally Toriyama slamming two people together because one fancies the other and the other one is a complete goof who can't understand women. Admittedly, it's how a lot of couples are formed: a boy and a girl are friends, and they eventually fall in love. But it seems too...empty.
Anyway, the focus of Dragon Ball is martial arts. That's pretty much what the story revolves around, not romance, not relationships, just Goku and friends fighting to protect the Earth and get stronger along the way.

Anyway, a lot of us tend to put a lot of emphasis on stuff that the author never meant us to think about. It's just something us DB fans like to do. Such famous examples as "Could Cell destroy the Solar System?" and "Was Gotenks able to travel at the speed of light?", both of which are unanswerable.

It wasn't a love story, they just fucked. Bulma didn't know or care where Vegeta was ("You think I'd live with that jerk? Ride his cock, sure, bear his child, sure, but live with him?!") and Vegeta didn't care if Bulma and his bastard lived or died.Piccolo Daimao wrote:Vegeta and Bulma? That's barely even explained. Exactly. Even in the Boo Arc, Vegeta never had any real relationship with Trunks outside of training. Then, later, when he's about to sacrifice himself, he acts like he cares about his family and everything. I don't know if that's true or not, I mean, it's made out to be but I don't see how. how he finally "cares" about them when it looks like his ass is about to get owned. Absolutely fuck all changed in those 7 years.Rocketman wrote:It wasn't a love story, they just fucked. Bulma didn't know or care where Vegeta was ("You think I'd live with that jerk? Yeah, I found that very strange. You'd think Vegeta, of all people, wouldn't back down and take his son to the amusement park just to stop him crying. I'd've expected him to go to Bulma and say, "Yo, bitch. Take the brat to the amusement park, I'm busy."JulieYBM wrote:Toriyama didn't exactly do a lot of focusing on it, but it wouldn't surprise me if Vegeta did pay attention to Trunks, if begrudgingly. Or he had his arm twisted into taking him to the amusement park.

Well, Vegeta did say he felt he was getting soft. After seeing Cell kill Future Trunks, I think a part of him resolved--even if he wouldn't admit it--to appreciate his boy a bit more.
Besides, who wouldn't love a sequel to the Table special with the Vegeta family (plus Goten, Table, and Grey) having shenanigans at the amusement park?
