Were you to actually read the thread, you'd understand.Tweaker wrote: Why would you resize those screenshots in GIMP? You're not getting clean shots if you downscale them--that's going to take away detail, which I imagine is the entire point of showcasing those particular scenes.

I think you're referring to a scene from the Orange Bricks. When Raditz kicks Goku, there's a very noticeable tear in the film:SHINOBI-03 wrote:I want to see the moment where they say the film rips itself apart in the first episode.jjgp1112 wrote:

This isn't a proper screen shot btw, it's merely a downsized version I uploaded to Amazon back in 2007. I don't have the original DVD resolution version anymore.

Okay. But I didn't, and I'm not going to, so I'm sure you or someone else could manage to take three seconds out of your day to either link an explanation or give me a quick recap. Don't worry, I won't bite.godofchaos wrote:Were you to actually read the thread, you'd understand.Tweaker wrote: Why would you resize those screenshots in GIMP? Poetikal's working on the DBox caps now, be patient guys.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Oh, believe me, I do! Bearing that in mind, since this little spat is simultaneously going on in this thread and in IRC, I think it'd be a good idea if we kept the personal stabs against each other in there.
I already figured out what I needed to, so I reckon that carrying on things in here is pretty much useless.
Awaiting the upcoming screencaps, in any case.

I haven't started any personal stabs yet. Just pointing out the obvious.Tweaker wrote:Oh, believe me, I do! I know some have said that the Extras might not be included, but in my opinion, the TV specials hold an important significance to the TV series. They're just as much part of the series as the episodes, so not including it would be a major disappointment to an already great release. They aired alongside the TV series, so why not? I guess we'll have to see.

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

Seriously, godofchaos has a LOT of good points, but he's really mean about getting them across...

Mods should actually read the thread, seeing as how part of moderating is actually you know... reading the thread.

Alrighty, so it's not exactly relevant, but it doesn't hurt to see how far we've come in the releases of the series. I don't own the Season 1 Orange Brick, but I do own the Saiyan Conflict Pioneer boxset. And Volume 1 of the UUE's came with my Movie 13, so what the hey. I started with the Pioneer set, and got a little ahead of myself. I went past the first volume of the UUE on just the first disc of the Pioneer version
So please excuse the lack of the last three comparisons for that one.
I'm not sure if I did this right, but they look fine to me. I just used print screen in MPC, and then dropped 'em into a pre-set window in Photoshop CS2 at 640x480. Each shot varies a little, and is missing a pixel or three from the sides, but it's mostly just blackness that got cut off. We're not comparing to see how much was left out, so I thought it wouldn't hurt any. We're comparing colors and junk, which I think these perfectly show.
Pioneer Saiyan Conflict

Tee Hee! I found a nasty frame lol.

Ultimate Uncut Edition

Funimation's Dragon Box Z

If anyone wants to combine those into single shots, then go ahead. I'm not good enough at that kinda thing to make it look right lol.

That is partially because Nathan's caps don't look right.jjgp1112 wrote:Goddamn, Nathan's caps really do show how far we've come. The Pioneer single looks like fucking SHIT
There is unnatural stuttering that does not appear it's from the source material.
