Yes, it's everything you all have already said about it. It's sooooo nice. Cha-La restored to the English dub. Next ep previews in Japanese only, even on the English dub.

Chapter stops are slightly different:
- There is no chapter stop after the recap-and-titlecard ("Prologue and Subtitle"),
- No chapter stop within each act
- The Act 1 chapter stop occurs after the "we'll be right back" first eyecatch.

I was able to snag this for $48 including shipping from rightstuf.com -- and it is definitely worth every penny. God bless each and every one of you that bought your anime from FUNi to make this happen. This is awesome.

How did you get it for that cheap

Rightstuf had a sale on all FUNimation products back in August, and they had the DragonBox on the list, it was like $57 without the special sale.

I gave up... Using DVD Decrypter, it kept stopping at certain points, like 91% on a .VOB file. Even though I stopped it, the video file seemed okay. The problem is picking which one to get from your specified file you uploaded. Even still, the .VOB of a full 12 minute clip is almost 1 GB, but the numbering of the files are so damn confusing.

Well I was at my cousins from Thursday to today (Sunday) and my DBox arrived in my hometown Saturday (We had our mail stopped because the whole family was gone) so I come home at 6 PM and it's sitting at the table and WOW! I love this box set.

Every time I order something from Japan it comes on a Friday and I miss it. I love going to the post office to get it in the morning! That drive over there must be like heart-pounding... try not to get in an accident!

Okie dokie... after some mentoring from God of Chaos, I took a whole mess of screen shots from the Pioneer discs, the UUE's, and the Funimation Dragon Box. Just stuff from the first 3 episodes, but enough to get the idea. At least for this part of the series... I think. They should have little to no imperfections, and should be a good example of what all of these really look like compared to each other. I hope.

Anyways, because of the fact that I took 30 shots per release, I'll only post a couple with img tags, and the rest I'll just link and you all can just look at 'em yourselves.

Now what would be nice are corresponding screens of the original Dragon Box.

They're all in this order: Pioneer, UUE, Funi Dragon Box

In one version, he kicked the habit. Better than, say... a lolipop?

This is the one shot of the Dragon Box I don't like (though I didn't notice or care while watching...). He's too bright, and almost does look like Sonic the Hedgehog.

It says "5" somewhere in there.

Now this screen shot fucked me up. Either it's the Dragon Box's colors, or I just couldn't get the frame right. I put several of 'em to show that the background blue constantly changes. I had already put away my other two DVD's at this point though, so that's why there's only one for them.

I think we should boycott the set until we get a fully remastered version of the Rock the Dragon opening...

I just can't believe how over saturated Funimations previous releases have been, I mean does the original Dragon Box look the same as the FUNi one? It's just weird to look at now.

They're supposed to be the exact same footage. I'm pretty sure that they are the same.
