I'm in the UK and just got my copy a few days ago. Ordered the Special Edition and got the standard version :(

The game is seriously 'meh'. It's basically just Sparking in high def at 60fps. Nothing really new over the previous versions gameplay-wise to keep me playing. And unlocking the new levels by playing each stage again on hard is agonising to do, it takes way too long to accumulate those damn stars.

Even though the models are much nicer than they were on the PS2, Burst Limit looked much much nicer in my opinion. The effects in this game look very weak and fluffy when compared to BL, and as I said before it really just looks like they upped the resolution and framerate.

I'm really hoping they make BL2 and don't just cancel that series in favour of Raging Blast.

I'd say that if you've never played any of the Sparking games, this one is worth a go. You'd probably find it a lot more fun experiencing this type of gameplay for the first time.

Score Attack and Extreme battle are just annoying me now..

Score attack no matter what i do i dont get any sort of rank even tho I'm kicking the crap out of the cpu..

And Extreme battle when ever i do extreme battle i have to fight chaotzu. When i win i get the "Rank Up!" Afterwards I'm left with 2 options Replay or quit. if i quit my rank dosent stay and i have to replay and its just an annoying cycle.

Apart from that it seems to be ok tho those 2 are gonna annoy me out of a Platinum >.<

But the one time I've done it, I missed a button so it didnt connect with Vegeta and it didnt cut to Gohan hitting it back.
That is the most misleading name for an attack ever. "Trinity Spirit Bomb" or "Unison Spirit Bomb" are just as convoluted/"cool" sounding and still make sense with what happened. But "Fusion Spirit Bomb?" Gah.
It probably got translated from something like "Gattai Genki-dama," and I think this because in Gurren Lagann gattai is translated to "combine"/"combination" because they're talking about robots, but when Avo and Cado use it in the Jump special they translate it as "Fusion."

If that's true then it should probably be something closer to "Combination Spirit Bomb."

Thanks in advance.

Playing this game is more like work than anything else, i'm struggling to get motivated to finish it. I'm having more fun with "Attack of the Saiyans" and "Drawn to Life The Next Chapter"
Ok I take it back i'm having quite a bit of fun with it now that i have a lil Customization, Instant Kamehameha and Instant Transmition are really fun to use.

(Fighting) Future Trunks has a technique where he dashes forward and blow his opponant to dust (just like where he destroys 18) is also very awesome.

The lack of moves for the new characters kind of sucks...but YES Tien took a huge bound in moves.

Things I noticed reading through:
Leading up to and upon its release, many fans pointed to it as the second-coming of "Legends" for a new generation of hardware.
Is there a word missing from the end of this sentence?
or Jheece and Butta denying Dodoria and Zarbon entry to Ginyu-Tokusentai
Shouldn’t that be “entry to the Cesar-Tokusentai”?
While do you gain D-Points on the loading screens and by winning battles, this does not actually enable you to purchase extra fights and costumes.
Should be “While you do” etc.
This is all fine and dandy, except that you do not gain the ability to even see these circumstances, nevermind use and attempt them until the after you have completed a stage.
Should be “never mind” and “until after you”
With Yamamoto at the helm and many Kai elements such as voices being brought it,
"Brought in"
Burst Limit's opening theme ("Kiseki no Honô yo Moeagare!!") was the ominous and most uninspired of the new bunch
Hmmm...something seems off about the use of "ominous" here. Shouldn't it be "most ominous"? Though "ominous" seems like a weird word to describe the song in the first place.
Raging Blast does none of these things, and it is therefore very difficult to defend it as nothing more than a high-definition remake of the first Sparking! game.
Shouldn't that be "anything more than a high-definition remake"?

Doesn't having the top disc go right over the bottom hub scratch the shit out of the top disc? :?

Funny how many times you can read something and have others read through it... and never pick up on those items... >.>

Is it bad that reading your review mostly makes me want to play Legends? Which version are those screencaps taken from by the way, the Playstation or Saturn?

You might wanna fix that considering it lists Seiji Sasaki as Recoome on your chart above. Other than that, a great review. I agree that METEOR is overall the better game. Raging Blast was definitely a rushed product.

Is it just me or in survival mode the character would reappear again with a Halo above their head? I was playing as Super Buu and I notice that Zarbon in his monster form appear with a Halo on his head.

The review was great. But one error I did notice, the Raditz is a good guy scenario comes from Sparking NEO, not METEOR

Sorry I know that's me being nitpicky. :D

Honestly, Blu-rays are extremely hard to scratch. It seems like sometimes you can breathe on a DVD and get light surface scratches, but Blu-rays really need some abuse to show any form of wear.

The soundtrack is the top disc though. So unless the soundtrack is on a Blu-Ray... yup. Scratched to hell?

You could switch 'em around, and obviously would if you play the game more than listen to the soundtrack, but wouldn't the damage already have been done?

Oh...well that was dumb of them.

Depends though. I know my DVD copy of Boondock Saints used a similar arrangement, and I don't think it ever got scratched (then again, I'm careful with my discs).
