I just got my Dragon Box, and whoah, hot damn, is this picture SHARP.

My roomate said it best, this looks clearer then our Bleach DVDs do.

What amazed me most is that when they move their fists real fast it doesn't look like a blur motion, but actual hands moving real fast. I'm in total shock.

I haven't seen a next episode preview yet, but I am looking forward to it (I started on disc 5, just wanted to see Nappa get beat down).

Edit: I just saw a next episode preview for the first time in my life... oh God I am so glad they're here now, they're amazingly fun to watch.

FUNimation, thank you, this set is totally worth every penny.

UGH I envy every single person on this forum who has this set! >_<

Anyways, I am SO grateful that this set exists. Not just that it's the Dragonbox. For us fans who bought the Funimation DVDs for so many years, it's so much more. Funimation tried to release the Saiyajin and Namek Arcs, the only ones not put onto DVD with their current voice cast, but only got to the middle of Saiyajin, and just stopping there. No announcement, just flat-out cancelled it. Then the whole Remastered mess happened. They could of just finished the UUEs, but they decided to cancel that perfectly good release and try their own "Remastering" job, completely fucking up with the Season sets.

Now, we have the perfect DBZ release. All 291 episodes of DBZ in fullscreen. No kind of Dub influence, Japanese names on the packaging, Japanese audio set up when you start the DVD up, making it so much more like the original DBoxes. I did see a few episode previews a while back, but never on DVD and in such crisp quality. Thank you Funimation, thank you so, so much. :D
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

Just got this set. I picked it up on a whimsy at Best Buy because I needed a new printer. I know I'm not breaking any new ground here but the picture is really great. I'm enjoying the next episode previews, I have never seen them before. It's so nice not to hear HARD CORE X-TREME RAWWK when I get to the menus. It's the little things like the correct episode titles in the episode selection menu, the book with all the proper names and the Japanese language with subtitles on default that brings this set together.

So thank you Funimation, here's hoping you put out the rest of these bad boys.

Yea, thats why I found it odd. I would think they knew for a while they were't releasing them since they cancelled movies one and two somtime in September, so I would assume they had time to fix it. If it was an ad for the first movies I would understand, but being it was for the third\fourth movies I found really weird. Oh well. :?

Wow, battle filler and cuts to the rest of the cast watching TV and passing out when Nappa flexes gets pretty annoying compared to expansive story filler.

Alright, here's my last batch of screencaps. What better way to end it on than with episode 4?

I just finished the second disc today.

Wow.

The video quality is sharp, the opening and ending is raw, the audio, oh man the audio. It was excellent. I love just about everything in this set.

I was never aware there was a previous animation to Chala Head-Chala as well (the one without Vegeta and Nappa).

God, the Goku vs. Vegeta fight looks so awesome in motion on this set. Especially episode 34. Hell, I even actually watched the Fake Namek filler.

As far as official U.S. FUNi releases go, it was only ever previously available on the various VHS and DVD releases for movie 1 (Dead Zone). So if you ever watched that, then you've probably seen it and it just never clicked.
I've never watched it via VHS, but I do own the Ultimate Uncut Movie 1. If it was on that, then yeah, it might have not clicked.

Why does everyone care so much about next episode previews? What's special about a 10-15 second preivew of an episode aired 20 years ago that you've already seen several times? I know it was excluded on the previous american realeses, and i know fans want a definitive realese, but is it that much of a big deal? :?

Yes, yes it is because they are a part of the show as much as anything else.

I wondered that for ages myself, but now that I have them, I can see why. Some have footage not shown outside the preview, and you get a cool dose of various characters personalities every preview. Plus, Gohan always says something cute at the end, and it's kinda neat to have that every episode.

Yeah, I find myself wanting to watch them a lot. Although it did get annoying when the only thing Gohan was saying was "Father, do you think I can become a Great Scholar?"

Yes, yes it is because they are a part of the show as much as anything else.
I can understand this, particularly as past DVD releases for Transformers and G.I. Joe have been criticized depending on how the show was presented in a particular region.

For example, in the United Kingdom they were aired without commercials so people from the UK didn't particularly care for the commercial bumpers being present during the run of the episodes because that wasn't how they experienced them. Apparently, the recent releases would have removed the bumpers from the episodes if they were able to do so seamlessly.

I doubt I'll see many of the DBZ previews because I really dislike "Zenkai Power" (did I get the name right?) and will be skipping ahead in absence of the marathon mode.
