I think any retention of the 'dub score' was, of course, for some sake of 'consistency'. The Dragon Ball team (as indicated by the recent change of staff?) has pretty much been on auto-pilot sense most of the series was in the can. If the Orange Bricks go the way of the singles, and this is something I had hoped Mike and company would discuss, what will the North American fanbase look like in a few years' time without the Nathan Johnson/Bruce Faulconer/Mark Menza scores? What is this new team's plan for the series beyond this point?
If it's how the fanbase was before the Toonami explosion, I'm all for it.
Amongst the casual fanbase friends I have who watch the show but don't ever really discuss it online or give it any real deep thought, when they bought the Bricks starting back in '07 they just shoved the disc inand played it on the default setting (dub with JP BGM) and didn't give it a second thought. And these are people who watched it on Toonami hardocre and bought all the VHS tapes back in the day. No problems with the score, no problems with the dub, nothing. They were just having fun watching DBZ.

So, really, the Toonami dub score fanbase that you're looking to be rid of is already somewhat "converted" into something that's available on the Dragonboxes. The people I'm mentioning, though, just don't really have an online presence.

One question about the Dragon Box: Are the credits translated? Left in Japanese? Done away with because FUNi used a creditless version?

They're left in raw Japanese with no translations whatsoever, and as I posted in the Dragon Box thread, they're all correct. No reusing the first episode's credits over and over or anything like that.

Ha, finally got around to listening to this episode. Thanks for the shout-out Corey, but shouldn't you have changed your name to "Cesar" rather than "Mr. Dog"?
