Metalwario64, I would say that SMB3 makes my list of favorites, but CT is still my favorite.

Well, to be honest, it's just from what I've seen around the internet here and there. Never been active on any Final Fantasy site or anything, but from what I've picked up upon, the fans seem to say that it's at least the weakest of the "pre-VII" games because it has the "weakest story."

I prefer FFV because it puts gameplay over story, which most other Final Fantasy games don't seem do in my eyes. The job system is seriously awesome! I also really love the music in the game; Ahead On Our Way is one of my favorite Final Fantasy tunes. VI has the best boss tune however.

Hey, at least it's the top 5! I would be urged to slap you if it was below the top 10.:P

Gentlemen, gentlemen: this is a Dragon Ball forum. That said, Final Fantasy IX is the best Final Fantasy game. Suck it. :P

Fun podcast as usual, but I do say...switching to the second recap music for next episode would be beastly beyond all logical perception of beastly for a podcast.

It would be awesome and a nice change of pace for the recap music to switch to the second Z one. Then maybe at podcast 292 they could switch to the GT one(someone made an instrumental by splicing I believe), and after 355 they could switch to the Kai one.

Let's try to get it at least remotely back onto the topic of something discussed during the podcast episode, now :P.

I picked up the game several weeks ago, and despite being really excited about it, haven't played past the 23rd Budokai (Blame Assassin's Creed 2, the Dragonbox, and all of the recent sales on Steam).

Thankfully I'm almost done with AC2, and the absolutely ridonkulous Steam sales are now over, I might actually jump into the game.

Yeppers! Haven't received any in a while. Probably because we don't mention it. But that's because we haven't received any. It's a vicious cycle.

Feel free to send 'em in, but be sure to keep 'em concise!

Oh, snap! I can actually send those in now that I have a mic!

Oh, by the way, after I went out and bought that $30 mic headset and used it for recording, the next day I was going through a box and found a mic headset that works just as well that used to belong to one of my roommates before I moved. I guess I just forgot that he gave it to me!

Oh well. I guess I have a spare now!

Funny how some guys mentioned FFV and FFIX seeing as how those were the two FF games Sakaguchi was deeply involved in before leaving the company. I still have to check out FFV seeing as how it predated Blue Dragon with the class system Sakaguchi previously developed with FFV before bringing it over to the next gen gaming.

But yeah, playing ATOS is very nostalgic. It makes me wish more than ever if Monolith decides to develop the sequel, to make it similar to the days when I would play "Legend of the Super Saiyan" on the SNES.

Eh...I very much disagree, but that's a topic for another thread.

On-topic,

I couldn't really get a grasp of how much of the series this game covers. Mike mentioned being at "The Devil's Toilet," which makes me think it starts somewhere near the Uranai Baba stuff. But how far does it go? All the way to the end of Z? Or does it stop somewhere before then?

Plot wise, it covers from the 23rd Tenkaichi Tournament to the battles with Nappa and Vegeta.

To help pad out the game and I suppose bring in some nostalgia, there are many places from earlier in the series either referenced or available to visit. The Devil's Toilet is one of those.

In fact, I'd go as far to say that with all the Dragon Ball locations in this game, you'd have almost everything you need to make an early Dragon Ball RPG anyway.

It's actually the "Devil's Great Toilet", or some such thing, so it has a slightly different name than the place in the series (or at least it did in the Japanese version). It's clearly based on the Devil's Toilet from the Uranai Baba arc, but its design is quite different.

Continuing on with my podcast catch-up tour, I'd like to say how pleased I was to finally have a DB game with an English-release title that's simply a translation of the Japanese title, rather than having some name change that's either pointless (DS/Origins), wrong (Sparking!/Budokai Tenkaichi), or simply nonsensical (Harukanaru Goku Densetsu/Harukanaru Densetsu).

Is it just me, or does Kendamu sound an awful lot like Julian? You sure you're not trying to pull a fast one on us, Mike?

Oh, and I can't wait for Kunzait to be on the podcast. Though that might end up being the longest podcast ever.
