This seems silly, but read on...
http://fukuani.hp.infoseek.co.jp/fukuani_shinban.html
According to this, the 6th season of Digimon, the title is デジモンアラウンド, literally Digimon Around, though a stylized form of writing I've found is that it's to be called Digimon AROUnD.
It's set to air during Spring 2010, the current rumor is that it will replace Dragonball Kai and air alongside One Piece -- and this gives me a lot of hope for ratings because either as a lead in or out, this series would benefit a lot since One Piece is one of the higher rated anime.
We should expect more news and possibly pictures around the time of Jump Fiesta, which I think is late December.
Source
So...wtf guys? I thought the Dream 9 thing was established? One Piece and Digimon doesn't have the same effect!

That's the first I've heard of it. Maybe Toei wants to take a time out.
Which is weird, since they're barely doing anything for Kai.

Unless there's any source for that rumor that it will replace Kai, I don't see any reason to get worked up. That Japanese site the post linked to doesn't say anything about it replacing Kai, as far as I can see.
edit: Incidentally, it seems from that link that there's an anime prequel to Anne of Green Gables. Huh.

Just what is a Dream 9 anyway? Is it a One Piece storyline or something? I keep up with OP, but only the anime.

Dream 9 is the name given to the hour long block of programming (9 to 10am) on Fuji TV that contains One Piece and Dragon Ball Kai.

It's the 9:00am time-slot on Fuji TV that is filled with One Piece and Dragonball Kai.
EDIT: Well,

Gonna wait for confirmation on this one. Kai's been high up in the ratings ever since it began; I can't see them pulling the plug or moving it around at this point in time.
If Kai were to end in April, that'd only give it about 52 episodes. At the current "usually compresses 2 to 3 Z episodes per week" rate it's going at now, that would mean Kai would probably finish at the end of the Freeza arc.

The Z Freeza arc itself ends at episode 107, so that wouldn't be much of a stretch, but...I dunno, it's DB, wouldn't Toei want to milk Kai all they could and get through Cell and Buu too?

The reason for this rumor is the fact that every other Digimon series has aired on Sundays at 9 AM. But a new Digimon series isn't even completely confirmed yet; most sources for it are blogs that quoted 2ch posts, and the V-Jump issue that 2ch posters supposedly got the info from appears to only have info about a new Digimon DS game. Of course, even if there is a new Digimon series, it wouldn't necessarily get its old time slot back. It's not like Kai is airing on Wednesday nights.
However, someone in the chat pointed out that
Toei's shop is listing Kai as being planned for only 17 DVDs and 50 episodes. So, new Digimon or not, Kai really could end with Freeza, even though it's doing great in the ratings and costs jack to produce.
Maybe they'll just have a Dragon Ball Kai Z to cover the Cell and Buu arcs.

I think it's jumping to gun a lot to assume that Toei would can Kai or cut it short, it's pretty much common practice for a serialisation of any sort to be split into volumes or several series and air at different periods of time.
I see no reason why, even if the series only ran until the end of the Frieza arc by the spring, it can't he brought back at a later date. To me, the end of the Frieza arc seems like a logical place to take a break.

Impossible, there was some mistake on Fuji TV and somebody leaked the scene with Imperfect Cell from Kai in some anime episode.....
Kei17 recorded it, so this is confirmation that Kai won't end after Freeza saga

Same here. I don't think the animators would be that far ahead already. And don't think it would be leaked like that. I don't believe it. But I want to believe. I want to have hope.
