I don't see the point of Funimation dubbing Kai. The raw footage has been dubbed to hell by them already and the days of Toonami and mainstream popularity are well and truely gone. To me it doesn't come across as being a sound investment of their time or money.
How about dubbing "Yo! Son Goku and his friends return!"? That would be more like it

FREAKING AWESOME POINT. The dub didn't stop airing not too long ago, and we have had 2/3 DVD releases of it since and we are still in middle of one of them. They will wait a bit on it.Duo wrote:Japan had more time for the show to age then North America has...that's why the hypothetical Kai dub ought to wait a few years.

Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
Looking back at the last page, why are people talking like there is a show called "Super Sentai?" It is a series, like "Power Rangers," and each show has it's own distinctive theme.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

That's because a couple of people who commented on or argued the point about changing the Ginyu Force theme (something I'm very against!) don't know what Super Sentai is but felt like commenting anyway whether or not they admitted their ignorance.Onikage725 wrote:Looking back at the last page, why are people talking like there is a show called "Super Sentai?" Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
I think people get confused because in the US we most associate MMPR with Power Rangers as a whole. It's Japanese counterpart, Zyuranger is basically just another show. It is highly doubtful that it impacted the Ginyu Tokusentai's creation in any significant way.

Hence why, like the Ginyu Force in general, we were crediting the song's inspiration to Super Sentai as a whole.Onikage725 wrote:I think people get confused because in the US we most associate MMPR with Power Rangers as a whole. Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
In the English dub do you think they would replace the theme with "Go Go Power Rangers"? >_>

I'd rather they didn't and they likely won't.Khalid Shahin wrote:In the English dub do you think they would replace the theme with "Go Go Power Rangers"? >_>
Re: Dragonball Kai dub?
We already talked about that, and not only would it irritate some people, but its just a bad Idea all around.Khalid Shahin wrote:In the English dub do you think they would replace the theme with "Go Go Power Rangers"? >_>
They could either:
A: Keep the track that's there and potentially dub it, this would cost them nothing as it came with the license for DBK
B: Compose their own unrelated track (Probably not gonna happen, they've been moving towards using the Japanese Music, and Kai's is already sufficiently "HAWRDCORR" Enough)
C: Ask Disney for permission to use the song that they probably won't be able to even get, and then if they manage to get something ironed out, they'd have to pay Disney for it.
Easier and cheaper just to do A. Plus, it wouldn't irritate the large amount of us out there who didn't think "Go Go Power Rangers" sounds good.
