New Developer for future DB games....

Post by goku the krump dancer » Mon Dec 14, 2009 12:24 am

Just want to know who you would want to develop a DBZ game in the future.

Namco/Bandai: Tekken/Soul Calibur

Midway: Mortal Kombat

Capcom: Street Fighter (Super DBZ)

THQ: WWE

Team Ninja: DOA

Nintendo: SSB

Hudson: Bloody Roar

And any other devs I may have skipped, but honestly I would choose Midway or THQ. Midway because it just overall seems more interesting. THQ because we are guaranteed a CAF.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Platinum Games, because they wouldn't make another god-damn fighting game.

Any company that actively seeks fans' opinions rather than seemingly taking shots in the dark.

If they were still around, Clover Studio. Or Grasshopper Manufacture.

Most of the people who worked at Clover work at Platinum Games now, and the company was founded by Shinji Mikami, Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya.

For Dragonball? Then we'd get a Budokai clone with 40 Gokus, 50 Vegetas, 400 Brolis and a Piccolo.

Dimps and Capcom are pretty closely tied with Bandai Namco via the Gundam games, so I could see a joint development between the two ala Street Fighter IV.

As for out of the blue developers, Nintendo. Cause it'll never happen.

A small revision.

Any company that actively seeks fans' opinions rather than seemingly taking shots in the dark. And learns from past mistakes.

Nintendo (though that would mean Nintendo Power would have to shut their mouths about DB), or possibly Sonic Team (They could make a good game! It could happen!), but only if they straightened out and started caring again ( which they appear to be doing with Project Needlemouse).

I'd want to see what Square Enix would do. I loved Saiyajin Raishuu, so I'd be more than open to another RPG, maybe in the same sort of style of Chrono Trigger.

Right now my choice would be BioWare. The reason is their rpg games have been great like Dragon Age: Origins or Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. A style of RPG that other's just don't really do.

They could even make it a prequel to Dragon ball. In something like Dragon Ball : Planet Vegeta. And lt you play as saiyan under frieza during the glory days of the saiyans with the option of going good or going bad. Bad ending - You join Freeza's elite , Good You try to attack frieza like Bardock did and get a glorious death.

Or just something to that effect. As fighting games we've had our fill and any other fighting game will get compared to Budokai or Budokai Tenkaichi either in a "the fighting is not as good as Budokai 3" or "we need 1000000 characters like Budokai Tenkaichi 3"

Story we've all seen it before. So why not an original story with a deep gameplay in rpg. If they did it well enough you could see people giving it 8.5-9.5 in reviews or just stop the "loldbz game" thought most non dragonball fans haves.

Also THQ do not make wwe games. Yuke's makes wwe games all thq does is publish it. Big difference. It would be like saying Viz wrote Dragon Ball because they published it.

Also Midway has gone bump awhile ago. THQ bought Midway's San Diego studio, purchased Midway's San Diego studio got Midway Chicago studio (including Mortal Kombat rights) and i think others were bought too.

Yeah, game developers listening to the fans has never turned out well, because fans always want more of the same shit.
