According to our "Movie Guide", it was just DBZ movies 4, 5, and 8.Ultimate_DB_Fan wrote:I know movies 4 and 8 had some, but what were the others?

Movie 10 also had songs from a band called I.O.N. As far as I know, the songs used were WHY, Ignored, and Deeper.

Don't worry, that typically seems to be the norm. Although, there have been much worse cases than this.Ultimate_DB_Fan wrote:My bad for not searching the site like I should've.

You could say the first 3 movies edited dubs had Rock music because they opened with Rock the Dragon...

Yeah, but I think the implication here was actual music just licensed for the movies, not music written specifically for the show. It's also worth noting that both DBZ specials had 'rock' music in them (Sum 41, Saliva, Dream Theatre, etc. if memory serves).Duo wrote:HEY IS FUNIMATION EVER GUNNA RELEASE THE DRAGONBOX??

I definitely remember that the Bardock special closed with songs from Sum-41 and American Hi-Fi (which, ya' know, totally fit). Wasn't a lot of that music also later removed from subsequent home releases and their Cartoon Network airings?MajinVejitaXV wrote:It's also worth noting that both DBZ specials had 'rock' music in them (Sum 41, Saliva, Dream Theatre, etc. if memory serves).
Granted, I haven't exactly spot-checked a dub of a DBZ TV special since 2000 when the original VHS and DVD releases first came out, but I remember there being a minor dub-fanboy-uprising over the removal of certain bits of music, specifically in the Trunks special. There was some crazy gangsta rap about slappin' hoes when Gohan was dragging his one-armed self over to a senzu, I think.

Ah yes, "A Bigger Mood" by American Hi-Fi. I remember sitting there going, "Uh...well, I suppose Bardock is in Freeza's way...of committing mass genocide, but I get the feeling that's not what they were going for..."VegettoEX wrote:I definitely remember that the Bardock special closed with songs from Sum-41 and American Hi-Fi (which, ya' know, totally fit).
Oh lawd. That paired with Trunks' "Do it! You...WIIIIITTTTTTTTCH!" made it really difficult to sit through that dub. There was some crazy gangsta rap about slappin' hoes when Gohan was dragging his one-armed self over to a senzu, I think.
And then Bardock came out and I couldn't even make it past him charging at Dodoria's men to "Superstar" by Saliva.

Don't know about the recent releases but they still played on my VHS copy. I remember people talking about them being removed for the TV airing though.VegettoEX wrote:I definitely remember that the Bardock special closed with songs from Sum-41 and American Hi-Fi (which, ya' know, totally fit). Re: Which DBZ Movies Are The Ones With Rock Band Music?
I think the TV airings of Bardock and Trunks had recycled Mark Menza music in place of the band music.
