Why Majin Buu is the worst villain in DBZ

There's a difference between a manga having gags and a manga being a "gag manga"; but yeah, the line gets blurred a bit in places.

I agree with this, I mean, is One Piece a gag manga? Hell no! They are action/fighting mangas that have gags included within it.

I would say the gags last through the tournament. You know Krillin not having a nose and all.

Alright, I'll give you the entire 21st Tournament. 53 chapters. That's still around 10% of the entire series.

Majin Boo has action, and so does the entirety of Dragonball after Pilaf. I seperate it on the basis of it being "more lighthearted and gag-y" than the Saiyans,Cell,Freeza(or the 23rd tournament, really. If I had my way, that would've been the first part of Z). While I adore Z, I have to say I enjoy the smaller scale and bouncy vibrant feel of Son Goku arc-Piccolo Daimao arc*era Dragonball.

And, Rocketman, the original Dragonball does
get better reviews than DBZ. Case in Point:

But what's annoying is in the dub Goku said he was holding back so Vegeta could have a go, resulting in wasting energy... what a dunce.

They say that in the dub? In the original Goku says that he wasn't holding back for Vegeta's benefit and that he was going all out, but Buu wasn't giving him a chance to gather enough ki to destroy him. That's when Vegeta steps in to buy Goku some time.

Yeah they actually say that in the dub, even Vegeta was like... YOU FOOL! Then they started to work together for the big genki-dama finish. I think they made up for it due to Vegeta's great wish making plan.

I'd say the reason the Spirit Bomb worked against Buu was because it was so much more powerful than him. The thing with Buu was that you needed to severely overpower him in order to actually destroy him or he just comes back.

You could argue that he was insane.

I think that a sane person, who commits atrocious acts without any regret is more evil that a insane person. A insane person can`t help it. They are just sick.

Its like comparing Freeza to Kid Buu or Brolly.

Freeza was sane but he commited atrocious acts, killed millions, tortured millions, enslaved millions, destroy planets and races, all without any regret, because he wanted to rule them.

Kid buu is just crazy... He destroys stuff up and kills with no purpose because he just feels like it... If left unchecked he would destroy the entire universe till there was nothing left. What`s the point in doing that? Its just madness.

Freeza wasn't literally evil personified like Buu, or even Piccolo Daimao. He was just a jerk (to put it politely).

Granted, there isn't much of a difference. He was still evil. It's more literally "these guys are made of evil, but this guy's just a guy who's evil".

Majin Buu never begged for his life. But Freeza did so I won't consider him evil personified.

Obviously, he only did it because he knew Goku would heal him. He wasn't sincere in what he was saying.

He begged because he was desperate and pathetic, not because he was a brilliant strategist who knew Goku would spare him.

If I wasn't clear enough before, I wasn't saying that Freeza isn't evil; however, Daimao was born from the 'worm of evil' inside the Nameless Namekian, and Buu was nothing but rage and evil himself. They're evil given shape. Freeza is just a natural being who does evil. In a way, Freeza's probably worse because he has the theoretical choice between good and evil that all living beings do. He chooses to be the way he is, he's happy with the way he is. You can't really blame Daimao for being evil; that would be like blaming a lion for eating meat.

Anyway, my whole point is that Daimao is evil personified -- that is, evil given living form. Freeza is just evil.

Freeza wasn't pathethic. His goal was to defeat Goku, and that was impossible to accomplish if he himself wounded up pretty much dead.
It was kinda sly of him to beg for his life, and when he unexpectedly got an energy meal from Goku (just look at his surprised face), he saw another chance to defeat Goku once and for all by taking him by surprise.
Unfortunately that didn't work, but Freeza stuck to his goal.

Cell didn't look that happy either when he was going to die, and I bet that if he couldn't regenerate, and was out of power (he had all those awesome ~SUPPA SAIYA-JIN~ powers) and crippled, he would have begged for his life too.
It was kind of pathethic when he tried to absorb C18 at all costs, just to avoid defeat and a probable death.

I'm going by Funimation Dub with this but, Super Buu begged to not remove the pod because he wouldn't be himself anymore. That was his "humane" part of him speaking in order to prevent himself from going senseless. With that pod removed he would become Kid Buu with no sense of humanity or good.
