I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

That's why it took me over ten years to get the entire anime. Had quite a bit of time inbetween jobs, so couldn't buy like I wanted to. Was also why it took me a bit to get all of DB's sister series YYH. Will admit the experience and seeing most guys of my age group have jobs left me a little cynical about the fanbase of my age group. That's why when guys were on here who are about 25+ were complaining about the post season 2 season sets, I shook my head and replied they should've gotten the older version years ago.Tsukento wrote:The only one I have the entire series of is Dragon Ball GT in the form of the Dragon Box.
DB and DBZ have always been a challenge for me. The Japanese Dragon Boxes come out, I don't have money. The DB box sets come out, I have money when they're out of print and missing a set of episodes. DBZ gets released in all sorts of singles and sets, I have the money and get what I can. Dragon Boxes come out, I'm flat broke! ;_;
