Did the moon ever come back?
Was the moon ever restored after Piccolo blew it up?
I can't remember in either the manga or the anime(DBZ or DBGT) if night scenes displayed the moon or not.
EDIT: I think there was a thread on this a long time ago, but I couldn't find it. Sorry for bringing it up again, I just couldn't remember.

I'm not sure. Kami-sama restored it after Muten-Rôsh blew it up, so maybe he restored it that time again.Travis Touchdown wrote:Was the moon ever restored after Piccolo blew it up?

I don't think he did. Which can explain why night scenes no longer appeared in the manga.

Because we never saw it again nor anybody said the Moon returned.

So because something wasn't mentioned, that immediately means it never happened?Senzu_Bean wrote:Because we never saw it again nor anybody said the Moon returned.

Basically, yeah...
Okay, while lack of information is not necessarily information of lack, there's no evidence that points to the moon ever being restored, it's a good bet to assume it didn't unless something specifically contradicts it.

They were still there, last time I checked.Senzu_Bean wrote:I don't think he did. Which can explain why night scenes no longer appeared in the manga.

Since everybody stopped having tails I don`t see why he wouldn`t restore it.

Re: Did the moon ever come back?
We see the full moon in DBZ movie 13, though I suppose that doesn't really count.

After reviewing the manga a bit, I found a panel that does look like the moon and the Earth from a distance, while Frieza and his father were close to approaching it.

Why would blowing up the moon stop night scenes?Senzu_Bean wrote:I don't think he did. Which can explain why night scenes no longer appeared in the manga.

I don't know, that could just be another star.Son_Gohan wrote:After reviewing the manga a bit, I found a panel that does look like the moon and the Earth from a distance, while Freeza and his father were close to approaching it.

Re: Did the moon ever come back?
Agreed, especially when you consider how the DB moon is like 1/4 the size of the planet and seems to hang in CLOSE orbit. Plus, the numerous times that we see the Earth from outer orbit after it's been brought back by Porunga against Kid Boo, the moon isn't present. If you feel the explosion of the Earth destroyed the moon, note that the wish was to bring the planet back exactly as it was before. The absence of the moon would make that impossible, unless the moon was already missing.Herms wrote:I don't know, that could just be another star.Son_Gohan wrote:After reviewing the manga a bit, I found a panel that does look like the moon and the Earth from a distance, while Freeza and his father were close to approaching it.
On a side note, this lends a hand to the idea of Trunks and Goten (or at least just Goten) being born without tails. There'd be no reason to cut them off aside from aesthetic purposes, which Gohan having a tail implies Chichi wouldn't do to Goten.

Re: Did the moon ever come back?
Wait, the moon didn't appear when Porunga restored the Earth? I remember someone in the room commenting on it when we all watched that bit...
Maybe the presence of the moon has something to do with tail-growth in young Saiyans? If it wasn't around at the time of Goten and Trunks's birth, then such might explain their apparent lack of tails.
Unless we know that Vegeta lacks a moon, in which case, boo.

Re: Did the moon ever come back?
I'm pretty sure the Saiyans used a full moon to become Oozarus and wipe out the Tsufuru during Kaio's little Saiyan history lesson in the anime. In the manga I don't think anything is said one way or the other, but then manga-wise the Saiyans were presumably native to Planet Vegeta, and it'd be kinda odd for them to have the Oozaru skill if it couldn't be used on their own planet.caejones wrote:Unless we know that Vegeta lacks a moon, in which case, boo.

Re: Did the moon ever come back?
Not necessarily. It could be something like Kryptonians getting super-powered when exposed to Yellow or Blue stars, while their own sun is Red. It's also possible that the manga version of planet Vegeta had a moon and simply turned them into Oozaru every now and then (which may have been what kept the powerful population in check).Herms wrote:I'm pretty sure the Saiyans used a full moon to become Oozarus and wipe out the Tsufuru during Kaio's little Saiyan history lesson in the anime. Re: Did the moon ever come back?
That's not that nice find. Youc an see two or three stars in the same size as Earth's moon.
I think it was restored, if you have seen opening to Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2)))
But in the main storyline, it is not. Piccolo blew it up and it didn't returned.
