Here are some shots of Episode 078, taken from my Dragon Box. This is the art style that I would like to have seen from episode 001 to 291 without change. I also thought this to be Akira-sensei's original and only art, but I was proven wrong after reading some posts and also taking a look at some manga shots. Anyways, it's still the one drawing style I find to be most awesome for my taste.
Note that the pics are probably the wrong resolution, but I took them with MPC and was lazy to mess around with settings.
I also would've liked to show you more pics from different episodes with the same art, but I'm too lazy to do that too now.
I promise that I'll provide more pics, including other favourite and less favourite art styles from the anime.
