The trailer was both epic and lame at the same time. Some of the new dubbing doesn't sound half bad.
I just might like Gohan's new voice better. Even though I'd hardy be watching the dub at all. :P

Wow that was a really awesome trailer.

The ending with Goku attacking Vegeta was all sorts of crazy awesome.

Now I really want to buy Kai ahhhh. >_<

Oh and new gohan > old gohan.

Was that... a new Mr. Popo?

I am liking everyone so far. Schemmel's scream at the end was pretty killer.

My impressions:

- My god, is that Sonny Strait's Kuririn? It's better than ever! I was pretty impressed. Then again, if the script is better, so should he, since Kuririn is probably the biggest victim of bad scripts.

- Sabat's Piccolo is still awful. It's still the same, rough, but hallow, personality-deprived impression of Scott McNeil's Piccolo that it always was.

- Sabat's Vegeta.... ehhh, it's about the same as the last time I heard it. Not horrible, but not great.

- Nappa... hey, that's pretty improved.

- Son Goku... that was Schemmel at the end saying "It ends now", right? It's too little a sample to tell.

- All I could hear of Gohan was the scream, and it sounded a lot better than Naldony's, but that's really too little a sample.

Overall, it's not really anything to get too excited about. Most of the audio was just little samples you can barely gauge the quality of the voice acting or casting on. But as a trailer, I guess it was okay. It was interesting that they focused on the fight with Vegeta and Nappa, nothing about Raditz arriving. They were cutting to the meat just like Kai.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

I tried watching the dub on the second Dragon Box, and my god did my brain say "TURN IT TO THE JAPANESE LANGUAGE NOW" but my heart kept denying it.

Oh how I wish I win a large sum of money somehow and find a way to buy Kai. :?

Kuririn sounds AWESOME. X3
And Vegeta sounds really interesting. :3 I like it. Also really interested in Goku's scream at the end. Are they gonna use the Khhkk noise like in the Japanese?
I have a sinking feeling I'm going to end up watching at least this first arc's uncut dub. The commercial did a good job.

I wish I had some dialogue from Gohan other than a scream though. ^^; It'd be easier for me to decide if I like the new voice or not.

I don't mind the rock music for Kai because it's in the vein of how most of the Kai music sounds anyway.
On hiatus.

It's too early to tell, but most of the voice clips don't sound half bad. Looking forward to this...

I will say that I'm impressed that Piccolo and Vegeta sound slightly toned down.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I'm pretty sure that is supposed to be Vegeta from the part where he is mocking Piccolo and Kuririn's plan to attack Nappa.
Yeah, that's what I thought. It just sounds so different.
penguintruth wrote:personality-deprived impression of Scott McNeil's Piccolo that it always was.
Not really. Here it just seems to be the standard deeper version of his speaking voice that he uses for characters such as Zoro from One Piece. He has even seemed to tone it down on the deepness as well, and sounds nothing like McNeil's Piccolo at this point, in terms of actual voice and delivery.

But as you've said, all he has is really one line so it's too early to judge. I really wish they would put the first few dub episodes on YouTube already like they've done with their other properties...

What? That sounded nothing like Zoro. I've been bashing Sabat's Piccolo in Raging Blast and the DBOX 2 Trailer for sounding like Zoro. THAT sounded like Piccolo, in fact I was ecstatic when I heard it. Piccolo and Vegeta seem to sound pretty much like they do in the Ultimate Uncut's, which is my personal favorite sound. Piccolo sounds deep and smooth in a normal speaking voice and raspy and gruff while yelling (Unlike Zoro). Vegeta sounds deep, but not too deep that it's verging on Piccolo territory.

Anyway, I enjoyed the trailer, not enough to base an opinion on Gohan about sadly. But I was very happy and impressed with the trailer. The highlight of it was that simply amazing delivery by Sonny Strait as Kuririn. But it's really no shock, Strait is an actor who is ALWAYS on key IMO. Unlike Sabat, even in the Video Games Strait always seems to give it his all.

That was interesting. I'm really curious to hear more of Clinkenbeard's Gohan. Although this is only a teaser, my interest has peaked a little more.

Yeah, he just slightly cooled it on the "Makjik jeeni of za lahmp" thing he does with the character.

Really? I don't watch One Piece, but I really liked how Piccolo sounded in the DBox 2 trailer. I was disappointed he didn't sound like that in the trailer.

It sounds as generic and uncharismatic as ever. McNeil's wasn't perfect, but it was full of character. Sabat's sounds like absolute garbage. I could do a better Piccolo.

The only line in the whole trailer was him yelling. Don't base the whole thing off of that.

Funniest thing you've ever said. Crawl before you can walk, man.

Again, why are people judging it on a scene where he's fucking screaming and there's nothing else with Piccolo shown?

He was yelling in the DBox trailer as well. It didn't sound like that. Maybe he'll sound different when talking normally, but all I said was that I was disappointed how in he sounded in the trailer.
