We must be watching different trailers then. He wasn't yelling in the Dragon Box trailer. He was talking normally, just more intensely. In the Kai trailer, he was clearly yelling, "WE'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON AT ONCE!"

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Alright, fine, whatever. I'm still disappointed with it.

Really? I don't watch One Piece, but I really liked how Piccolo sounded in the DBox 2 trailer. I was disappointed he didn't sound like that in the trailer.
The only line in the whole trailer was him yelling. Don't base the whole thing off of that.
That's the thing. That's the key difference between Piccolo and Zoro. Piccolo's screams are raspy while Zoro's are more smooth.

First of all, I'd like to point out that Kai related youtube comments give me a headache. Now having gotten that out of the way lets get to the trailer.

I got chills up my spine starting with "It looks like they've been waiting for us" and they didn't stop until after Piccolo screams "Raaaaaah."

The script already seems like more of an accurate translation in comparison to the previous dubs. It almost seems as if it's something I would read in the subtitles. All the voices sound great. I'm impressed with Sabat's watered down version of Vegeta. I was expecting something like the Dragon Box Trailer. Thank god that didn't happen. Hard to gather much more information from the short clips of the few voices we heard. I'll have to wait for the BRD release or the Nicktoons broadcast. Which ever comes first.

Looking excellent so far.

I found the trailer quite good.

Wasn't expecting anything major to be done with the voices, but I think it can be taken from the trailer that the script and performances have been ramped up in quality, which is a good thing.

Definitely curious.
In a nutshell: Likes the sub and the dub and barely ever posts.

This trailer is so epic, I can't wait for kai. This is going to be a way better dub than dbz and I enjoy the English dub. DBZ is an anime where I can watch any dub of it and still enjoy it. Kuririn sounded amazing and I think this dub is going to be very faithful and like yu yu hakusho be considered an equal as its original counterpart (I know the die-hard Japanese fans will never say a dbz dub is better than the original version). Either way I can't wait for this, I'm buying a blu-ray player so I can get the maximum experience. Hope everyone at least gives this a try before judging it.

I gotta say, I don't think there's really enough in this trailer to pass judgment on anyone outright, but there was enough to give me some hope for a good dub this time!

When I pick up Kai on Blu, I'll check it out dubbed first.

So, I guess it'll be 4:3 judging from this trailer.

The acting was good however! That's "current Age" FUNimation for you.

I really was hoping for 16:9 on blu-ray. The series was broadcast in 16:9 so whats the big deal?? Why cant we have a choice of which aspect ratio we want in order to please all the fans??? If the DVD is 16:9 then I'm most likely going with that. My wide-screen television is calling out to me to fill up the entire picture lol. Although I completely agree that 4:3 give more detail I still want it in 16:9 because it wont be like the orange bricks with cutting out heads since Toei made it suitable to fit a wide-screen television.

Impressive, loved the trailer and the dub actually sounds good (unlike the shit they gave us before, excuse my language) but gohan on the other hand... not a fan of the new voice.

You guys CAN just zoom in on your TVs... and it shouldn't look like ass on a Blu-ray like it would a DVD.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
It was not intended to be broadcasted in 16:9. The only reason it was cropped to 16:9 is because Toei was forced to, due to Japanese TV broadcast standards. Had they not cropped it, it wouldn't have been allowed to air on TV. I agree that they should let us choose which aspect ratio we want to please everyone but, that also causes more issues with space. (On DVD anyway, since BRD has more then enough space.) Also, I might note that according to FUNimation, Kai is being released in 4:3. I would assume they are referring to both DVD and BRD. Since the trailer is in 4:3 and FUNimation is known for not spending extra money if they don't have to. I would bet anything it's only going to be 4:3.

Guys. I went into total giggling fanboy mode. That trailer was so good. It got me super pumped.

DBZ Kai is going to be the Jam. I'm so excited to have a good script, solid acting, with the voices that I know and love -- in English.

Blew my load.

"That's more like it, boy!!"

^^ Pretty much sums up my feelings on the trailer.

So, my girlfriend dislikes the DBZ dub as much, if not more, than I do. However, she is interested in seeing the Kai dub at least once due to the trailer.
