For ratings and money! :D

But really, is it any surprise that an aired version would be edited? Uncut DBZ has too many things that would be objectable for American airwaves.

I mean...

If you think Americas bad, you should watch english.

It doesn't even have blood. -_-.

Or, i don't know, maybe you do watch english dubs. Anyway, i've made my breif point. On with the discussion...

Uh, the edits in the American and UK version are the same I think.

It might be edited, but it can't be AS edited as what originally aired. I mean, come on. This is Cartoon Network, not Saban. They'll edit some blood, but I'll bet money that it won't be nearly as bad as the original Seasons 1 and 2 (which isn't hard).

I didn't need to see that image of Son Gokuu's naked backside -_-

Actually, I was kind of hoping they'd show the redub. It's been ages since I've seen the Saiyan Saga, and am too broke to buy the DVDs.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

If they actually edit the uncut versions, it'll probably be similar to what we saw when Funimation took over and did their own thing. Far less editing, with most of it just being scenes removed that had large amounts of blood and maybe some dialogue changes.

Well you're going to see it anyway when you watch the uncut DVDs. :P

They'll hype it up saying there will be "Never before seen footage"... I think they'll go lighter on the edits, since it originally was made for the standard channels and not cable, you can get away with more on cable.

What would be nice (although unlikely) would be if they aired the uncut version on the Adult Swim. That way, the edits would be down to a minimum and the fans would be (sort of) getting what they want.

But, like I said, it's not likely, because I do recall reading on a thread over at Adult Swim.com's message board that they would never show any thing Dragonball on the Adult Swim (and this was a message from a monitor, not some dude).

They wouldn't be "almost the same." Not unless they cut out nine episodes worth of materials again. :P

Goku's naked butt was ok on CN for DB, but there's no chance of that scene with his hand so close to his "little warrior".

Dude, Sean Schemmel vs. Chris Sabat in the Saiyan saga! Two of the greatest voice actors of all time face off in what is undoubtedly going to be the greatest battle of all time! Who wouldn't want to watch it!?

Seriously though, am I the only one getting the feeling that the original Ocean Group version of these episodes will soon disappear into obscurity, only for the DVDs to re-surface 10 years later selling for $1000 on E-bay?

Luckily for me, I either bought them on video years ago (when no one had a dvd player) or taped them off Cartoon Network. Still have to say that hearing Mr. Corlett's Master Roshi is kind of weird after hearing Mr. McFarland's for so long.

Couldn't say, but if they do, I'll be ready. I've got two copies of the originally released boxset of the Saiyan Conflict, one sealed+mint, and one open, plus a few random VHS's from the season.
