This segment should have simply served how strong the Vegetto is of that universe and how hard the other fighters will need to fight in order to win. Eh. I'm fairly certain that Rocketman stopped caring quite some time ago. Vegetto transforming into SSj2 and then even SSj3 to put up with the likes of Broli is the very epitome of sin for a guy who thinks that just base Vegetto could'a done it with one hand tied behind his back.

This version of Broly was encased in ice since 767, so he clearly didn't grow that much in the last 27 years. Whatever level he did reach before that happening couldn't be that much stronger than Kid Boo, seeing how a weaker Genkidama did him in. Vegetto 20 years ago could easily take Kid Boo, so this match doesn't work even with the ''getting more powerful'' clause. It would have been amazing if Broly was a regular contender instead of the Hulk-Broly we see here. Then the axiety of his power constantly growing would work and make him a possible final villain for the tournament, because by then we'd care about his personality and it would make the match more belieavable.

You have no idea if he was encased in ice on his reality immediately after receiving that Genki Dama.

Remember, he was the strongest one they could find in universe 20. So it is far more likely that he eventually came back after receiving that Genki Dama and killed them all (and probably most of the universe) before getting trapped on that ice.

I don't want this to happen as much as you guys, but Broli might not be dead. He just lost his match and he could come back later in the Manga. Knowing the creators' fondness for him, this might just happen.

They even had him drawn losing his LSSJ after getting it by the Final Dragon Flash, but they redrew it so that he maintained his LSSJ.

But the manga also showed his past was nothing but the battle, as well as the fact that he started out on par with SSJ Vegetto and QUICKLY became too much for SSJ2 Vegetto, so decades of growth being microscopic makes no sense. The lack of powerful people can also be caused by Boo destroying the universe, then leaving or killing himself off afterwards in the following 20 years.

Probably because their inability to remove him, and Vegetto's going ahead to fight him, caused the fight to happen anyway. So they used the existing rules to put an end to the match without killing Brolly. Likely so he can show up again later for some important role in the story, perhaps against the final villain.

Except that, IIRC, Salagir said that Brolly's power continues to increase so long as he is in LSSJ, period. Brolly was frozen as an LSSJ so his power would have gone up the entire time, just more slowly than normal.

It's getting pretty obvious that everyone here is being retarded. Just because they have plans for a character, whether you like them or not, does not make them a 'fanboy' of that character.

Brolly is someone who's easy to screw around with as a plot device. Deal with it and shut up about it already. I'm not talking to you, specifically, but everyone who keeps ranting on and on about this. I'm far more sick of seeing the bitching than I am of seeing Brolly.
