Or perhaps they use a best out of four rounds system. >.> But hey, anything is possible.

Pedro, name me a DBZ game that uses rounds? Or any game that does best of 3 (3 lights would be best of 3) where both players can get 3 lights and still be fighting (that would be round 7).

You worded that fairly awkward. The only DBZ game that uses rounds that comes to my mind would be the arcade titles.

The only error I see with what Pedro said involves "best out of four." Four is an even number, so two players could get "two rounds" and there'd be no best.

The middle green bar is your health. I don't get the way it bends... that could just be them being fancy...

The bottom bar is probably your 'ultimate' bar. You charge it through some fashion and each of those 'dots' lights up to mark what level you're at. 1 for a level 1 ultimate, 2 for 2 and 3 for a level 3 ultimate. ^^

This is all just speculation of course, but the first two I'm almost certain of. The third bar and dots though, could be completely off.
Sounds good to me, you are probably right. The only flaw I see is this. In picture one both characters (definatly Vegeta anyway) have enough energy to warrant having some dashes beside the bar but they dont. My first thought was that possibly it was like Budokai 3 in some way. The bar was your natural passive Ki regeneration and you had to actively charge to create the dashes. In pictue two however they had loads of dashes but partially full bars. Mabye they show a fatigue level or something?

I'm thinking it's like most games, where you charge the bar to full and then a marker lights up to show it's full, and the bar empty's to start charging again...

Okay, here are my two cents:

The two dots each fighter has in Image One that Xyex showed, are probably the fighters' levels. Remember Super Sonic Warriors which had a 1st Level Goku (normal) a 2nd level Goku (SSJ) and a 3rd level Goku (SSJ2)? This is probably it.

The green bar is 100% the health bar because Vegeta's is obviously decreased after Goku slams him.

The small yellow bar (the one next to the dots) is probably the fatique bar (something like the small human-icon in Budokai 3, which would turn yellow and red after a lot of consecutive hits). This one probably empties and refills, depending on how much of a pounding your fighter gets and delivers

The upper yellow bar is most probably the Ki bar.

I think that a Super Sonic Warriors-like game for the PS2 will be most welcome (as welcome the GC version of Fire Emblem), given the success the GBA version had in Japan and America.
"Destiny"... people claim by force what they desire, wreak havoc upon others in order to acquire it... and they call it "destiny".

Mah, some surprises are nice. ^.^ And besides, it's a fighting game, it can't possibly be mind numbingly complicated.

Think when it comes to the US it would be called Budokai 4? I mean...They never released the Budokai series in Japan under that name it was always just "Dragonball" (1,2,3).

Also, I actually (kinda) saw this comming...

Yeah but when was the last time you got suprised by a feature in a game? These days everything is told to you before release, and usually used as a selling point... :(

I'm looking foward to it anyway. It could be damn good ;)

It looks (so far) like Super Saiyan and other transformations count as different characters.

I hope this isn't true. The transformations were pure magic in Budoukai 3.

Hopefully the transformations don't end up being other characters. It might be that they just haven't finished the transformations yet, so for the beta build (or alpha build, however far along they are) the 'transformed' models are just standard like the other models.

Anyways, anyone who hasn't, check the front page. There's a nice link to the IGN preview of the game, some news pics and 3 gameplay videos (I checked this site one minute when the last update was the 'Fundumb', went to IGN, went "OMG" at the update, came back here to be the first to mention it and there's already a long news post about it :P ).

I'm pretty impressed by how it's looking. The areana in the vids looks a bit too dark at the momment, it'd be nice to get it more colourful. The characters look great though, and the free-roaming and destructible enviorments look awesome. My only concern is the camera - it seemed a little wonky in the vids.

I'm not even going to venture a guess as to how transformations may or may not work. I just hope the AI isn't cowdly and always runs. >_<

And on the note of those videos... I want to see them but they say they're for the IGN Insiders only or something. >_<

EDIT: Oh ya, duh. We poor people get the really low quality version. Bleh. Well, downloading anyway.

It looks like ZoE DBZ style, and it looks awesome. Anyway, you sure those are the release dates? I was hearing October for the release of Sparking! and November for Budokai Tenkaichi... Strange that the JPN release would get pushed back 2 months with no change to the American...

I agree. I liked being able to transform where and when I want.

So far I'm liking the sound of this, especally the fact "What-If" will probably play a bigger role in the game (I personaly wanted to see more What-If aspects in the DBZ games. I know the story very well so I want to see something new). As for having 60 characters, I'm kinda iffy. On the one had it would be nice to finally play as neglected characters, but on the other hand would this mean that the other characters won't get as much focus as they did before? Will more characters play alike, etc.

As for how the fights go, I'm loving what it looks like so far. I agree the camera looks like it could be a bit of a pain at times, but hopefully this will be fixed before the finished game is out.

None the less I like what I've hear so far and I'm looking forward to this game's release at the end of the year.

And just for the record, there is a game that has more than 60 characters - Namco x Capcom. It will featrure 100 Namco characters, 100 Capcom characters and at least three new characters.

I hope that 60 characters include Garlic Junior, Pan, Chaozu, Bulma and Master Roshi.

By the way, I hope that there is going to be a version for Europe too.
