That's either primarily a UK thing then, or a nowhere thing, but people still get worked up over it like "retarded." Changing lexicon, changing lexicon.

In fact, I don't think it's even as controversial as that, at least State-side. I've never heard it used to deride an actual disabled person.

There used to be a charitable organisation in the UK called the Spastic Society, for people with cerebral palsy.

Damn, I live in the U.S., and have never heard "spastic" or "spaz" used to deride the handicapped, but thinking about it, that name sounds terribly offensive.

The UK version of Mario Party 8 was actually recalled because the word spastic was used in the story mode. That month and a half of localizing from English to English sure was put to good use.

I finally introduced dub Kai to my friend a couple days ago, he really enjoyed it. Usually we'll pop in Z and watch a single episode before being bored out of our skulls and doing something else, we watched 4 or 5 episodes in a row with Kai. He noticed some canon being cut out with the Dragon Radar discussion, I asked him if mistakes like this mattered to him and he thought it kind of sucks but the good pacing outweighed the issue. He also claimed to have noticed the redrawn scenes and he said he didn't mind them even though they were pretty noticeable. As a dub fan he really likes this new version of the show so I was happy. He really liked the music and voice replacements too. This version is kind of made for him, he likes most of the dub voices but hates the dub music and the dub script.

Just figured it was worth noting a more casual DragonBall fans experience. He was really surprised when I noted they were up to the Android arc within the first 60 episodes.

So far as we know, they're showing up to #15. Once the schedule comes in for next week, we'll obviously know if they'll broadcast more.

Well they have to slow down eventually. One new episode airs every week in Japan, so if they kept showing five new episodes a week they'd be caught up in a matter of months. They don't want to blow their load too early.
