"Chi-Chi" is Spanish slang for "breasts". Hence they needed to change her name in Spanish dubs.

I actually live a few blocks away from an Asian restaurant downtown called Goten. I've always wanted to eat there just to say that I did.

Re: Characters Name Meaning In Languages
That's interesting, since "chi-chi" is slang for "breasts" in Japanese as well. It can actually refer to both milk and breasts (an obvious connection), so her Spanish name isn't too big of a change. Toriyama says he named her "Chi-Chi" name because it was fitting for the daughter of the Ox King (I guess the train of thought is ox -> cows -> milk).Khalid Shahin wrote:"Chi-Chi" is Spanish slang for "breasts". Hence they needed to change her name in Spanish dubs.
Yeah, that's actually where the character's name comes from in the first place.Goku100xKamehameha wrote:In Chinese "Yamcha" means "Drink Tea" (I think)

Is this what you're talking about?Goku100xKamehameha wrote:There's a brand in Indonesia name "Vegeta" it's a powder juice that you put in drinking water than you drink it than it's make shit easy

Re: Characters Name Meaning In Languages
Important to note, in Spain she's still called Chi-Chi. Funny thing is "chichi" isn't slang for breast there, it's actually a slang term for vagina!

Sorta un-related to the thread, and I apologize, but speaking of restaurants...

This is at a mall that's 25 minutes away from me.

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"
