Taiketsu Set *Pics*

Post by SweetCosmicPope » Thu Jun 10, 2010 4:25 pm

It's been a while since I've been on here. Wasn't much new to discuss, but I've been lurking. Found these in a newly-discovered Japanese grocery store in Houston (Nippon Daido, for those interested). It's a Bardock and Freeza taiketsu set. I bought them for the sole purpose of letting you guys have a peak. After I took the pics I let my three-year-old son have them, and he's been letting Bardock beat up Freeza for a while.

Vegetto vs. Boo, Goku vs. Cell, Vegeta vs. Janenba, Gohan vs. Broli, Bardock vs. Freeza…

This whole Taiketsu series seems to be dedicated to fights where someone gets their ass handed to them.

It's not often that they actually spell out Super Saiya-jin in kana like that, is it?

It's actually gotten pretty common. It seems to be the standard way of writing it in video games, and you see it a lot on toys too.

I recall some Japanese action figure by Bandai that actually wrote out Super Saiyan in Katakana. I can't figure out why.

I left my phone upstairs, and I'm lazy, so I'll take some pics on my way out in the morning and post them tomorrow. They're actually pretty cool little figures. Odd thing, though. Freeza has a tail and Bardock doesn't. Odd.

Bardock's tail is wrapped around his waist as it usually is.

Bar Dog? *cough* Okay...

Anyway... I saw those figures at Mitsuwa and they're pretty crappily made.

Derp! Now I feel retarded for not realizing that.

Here's some more pics from this morning:

And I noticed this, too! Didn't see it before. Too bad I can't read it. I'd love to find out how to get it.

As far as the toy quality, it doesn't have the quality of higher end Bandai action figures, however, it's fine for what it is. It's a softer plastic and perfect for little kids.
