Are the Saiyans immune to any sickness?
Do the Saiyans get any sickness? I mean, they lived on the Planet Vegeta so they seemed fine all the time from their battles on a lot of missions Frieza ordered them that means they doesn’t get any sickness like fever or whatever except Goku once got a heart sickness in Android Saga.
Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Future Trunks (before Goten and Trunks born) seemed fine all the time from their battles, trainings, and living on their home, Earth as well. Is the Saiyans immune to any sickness except heart sickness and nose cold from snow or not?
What do you think?

There's nothing to suggest that the Saiyan characters in the series didn't get sick at some point within a time skip. I'd think that they're similar enough to humans to be able to catch their diseases.Z-Dragon wrote:Do the Saiyans get any sickness? But it makes me wonder if other characters could perhaps get sick from human diseases. I have my doubts that Namekians could get sick from, say, the heart disease Goku contracted. The disease is said to be highly contagious, but Piccolo winds up catching him when he's tossed aside and doesn't get sick from it. Everyone else who comes within that distance of him ends up taking the medicine. But perhaps I'm looking too far into it, as there's no guarantee that he would contract the disease.

I think that they are more immune to illness than earthlings due to the strong physical condition their bodies are in, but I also think that they are still susceptible to strong disease.

Do any of the humans in the story ever get sick?

He's not exactly human, but Kaio gets a cold in GT.

Didn't Goku need a shot a few times?
Aside from that, Id say no unless you count getting the crap kicked out of you and being in the hospital 'sick'.
Of course, theres always that strange mysterious stomach thing going around.

Yeah, that's pretty much the only one I could think of, but it could very well be a case of...well...eating the poison. Does poisoning count as "sickness"?Herms wrote:Well, there was Kame-sennin and co. getting sick from ill-prepared puffer fish..Bussani wrote:Do any of the humans in the story ever get sick?

Uhm, heartdisease anyone?

Exactly. Goku got a virus that attacked his heart and killed him. It took the invention of time travel to save him, so yeah, they can catch diseases and even die from them.Booney wrote:Uhm, heartdisease anyone?

Honestly, why did it take more than 1 post for this to be brought up?rereboy wrote:Exactly. Goku got a virus that attacked his heart and killed him. It took the invention of time travel to save him, so yeah, they can catch diseases and even die from them.Booney wrote:Uhm, heartdisease anyone?

In that case, the entire topic could've been obviated.

He technically asked if they were "immune to any sickness except heart sickness and nose cold from snow or not?".

Then I would have to say that they aren't. Because we have at least 1 example of a Saiyan being susceptible to that sort of thing, and there isn't anything that says otherwise. Their physiology seems to be analogous to that of the average human's, for the most part.
Re: Are the Saiyans immune to any sickness?
And the only time we can think of that a human gets "sick" was more likely from ingesting poison, so by that logic, Saiyans are more susceptible to sickness than humans.Savage68 wrote:Then I would have to say that they aren't. Uh, in other words, I see no evidence to jump to the conclusion that Saiyans have a high resistance to diseases.

Since Goku lacked any real resistance to the cold in the Red Ribbon saga, I doubt he could have avoided getting sick from it.

Re: Are the Saiyans immune to any sickness?
It stands to reason that they have a much higher immunity than humans do, as they are in insane physical condition. However, people like Yamcha, Krillin, etc, would be just as immune. The weaker you are, the more likely you are to fall to the effects of disease. Also, you heal more slowly, which affects your immunity as well. Humans are redonkulously weak, so...
