Did it bother anyone else that the song started a bit too early and threw off the timing of the whole opening? :?
That bugged me EVERYTIME it came on. I was like "seriously, time it right, please."

Don't like the cover. Looks like fan art. Goku looks ridiculous. I already have both of the Season boxes, so if there isn't anything new on this box, I ain't pickin' it up.

Thank you. Even if I wanted any of the season sets and owned the GT sets, I still wouldn't care about this. Why would anybody buy the exact same thing for a new cover? You want the cover so badly? Well, there's the picture of it posted several times in this thread. 8)

Exactly.

Anyway, how are they packaging it? Is it like a season set that folds out, being twice as long? Or two season sets in one box?

Heh, maybe they put 14 episodes on each disc? After all, everyone's just buying this for the spiffy new cover, right?

I sure hope they don't care about video quality. That's gonna be one hell of an ugly set, and an appropriate ugly cover to go along with it.

Green pees?

Seriously though, I hope the funds from this set (if it sells) goes to future Dragon Boxes, be it Z, GT or original Dragon Ball Dragon Boxes.

The stores in my area still have season one and two for sale, now they are going to have three sitting there, it makes no sense. If it was cheaper I would understand, but add the two green bricks together and it's the same price.

I feel the same way. I wasn't going to buy the orange bricks period, Dragon Box or not, just because I take so much offense to what they did to the video. But FUNi sort of backed themselves into a corner now with me when it comes to the other releases. Because now that I know that they have the potential to release the Dragon Boxes, I refuse to buy the blue and green bricks even though they're perfectly good releases. Now that I know that perfection is possible, I won't settle for any less.

Maybe they're all RealMedia encodes.

Ah, the good old days of spending an entire afternoon downloading GT .rm files. Feels like a waste thinking back. Could have played Chrono Trigger a few more times.

I already have the two green bricks so I'm definitely not going to buy this 'complete series' set. The only reason I bought the green bricks in the first was place was because they were so cheap. They were $18 each on Amazon so I said "what the hell, why not?" And I've never seen GT before so I figured I might as well get them.

In retail, this will confuse people. HEY KIDS, HERES SEASON ONE! WAIT, BUY THE WHOLE SERIES! BUT WAIT! BUY THE LOST EPISODES!

Normally the purpose is to go after people like me who have neither and would be tempted to get one, but not two sets. However, the appeal is usually by offering a substancially lower price (ie: between 50% to 80%) of getting them together, so I have no idea what the fuck's going on here. It's clearly not a "Collector's Edition" set of some kind, so the price makes no sense to me. In fact, if stores discount the season sets in order to be able to sell this, I'm much more likely to go after those instead.

As for packaging a Z-season set, it may be like the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer complete series set and be a ton of slimcases containing the season sets' DVDs, making for a SMALL box (seriously, there are seven seasons in the Buffy set and its only the same size as two Z-bricks). But since two bricks side by side isn't that big, I think GT'll be the two seasons in a cardboard box.

...Still curious about the extra runtime, though.

I actually thought the same thing earlier: what the hell is the point of buying a set that retails for the same price as two separate sets combined, which now that they are rendered obsolete will likely get their prices significantly cut? Why would you want to pay more for 1 set when you could save by purchasing 2 separate sets for less?

The idea of this set rendering the other 2 obsolete would lead to this set being rendered obsolete as soon as it hits the market...

Incredibly epic let down, oh well I'm going to try and sell the one green brick I have and pick this up. At least all of GT will be in one box; that's cool, right? I'm pretty sure they are going to package this like they did the complete series release of School Rumble with 5 disk holders holding two discs each.

Even though things looks bad there's 2 things bugging me.

1: If that is the official cover why isn't it on Rightstuf yet?
2: If it's just a repackaging of the 2 seasons than why doesn't the runtime match? Did they just add the Next ep previews? Which still don't makeup all of the missing minutes.

The cover just looks way to much like fanart, and FUNi is adding the toei logo usually on the side and on the back of recent releases.

Plus..that stock is used constantly in Gfx signatures..

And why would they keep a $70 price tag? Unless they fixed up there original masters and add those than I'll buy if not forget it, I'll be purchasing the original GT boxes if this isn't a DBOX or new packaging for there original masters(which are very close to DBOX to begin with..)

I meant the Season 2 Gogeta XD, whoever made it probably re-sized and re-colored it.

It just looks like more of SSJ4 Goku's hair to me, and it's long enough to reach down to there. Plus, your thing about the Toei logo was pretty soundly debunked. Could be fake though, I always thought it had that "fake" aura about it.
