From what I could find out, those episodes were never done by Anime Labs

According to this page:
http://www.angelfire.com/mi/tENCHImUYO/dbz.html

Those episodes seem to have been made by some group called "NGN/EP" whatever that refers to
The EP means Extended Play. It's not a group it's a vcr record setting, it's lower quality than HQ.
Next to get; Leged of Saiyan figures and Freeza's force

If anyone sees
Any of the Legend of Saiyan line going cheapish
Or any other Banpresto DBZ figure :)

If anyone has a cooler steelbook dvd that wants to sell it (prefer new but used is fine) when/if the dragon box movies comes out contact me :)

Yep. They aired subtitled Dr. Slump too, which to this day is the only English release of the anime series, legally produced or otherwise.

EP is Exended Play. It's a record setting for VCRs not a sub group.
Oh yeah!! I forgot all about VCR settings

Umm... first off there wasn't anyone asking for something to be subbed. Seriously... learn how to read something then respond logically.

Anyways. To what Goku100x said, I got a chuckle out of that too. I wish I had known about these during the early days of my fandom... I would of been going nuts about the epic cursing. :p

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

A student of my dads gave me a bunch of cd's with a lot of Anime Labs subs before Cartoon Network started to air the episodes following Goku's fight with Freeza. I remember watching movie 13, only 11 or 12 years old and seeing Vegeta say "Fuck you," numerous times and thinking, "what the hell they should put the original version on HBO or something, I am really missing out."

I don't remember seeing episodes prior to the Freeza saga, so those looking for clips from the Saiya-jin saga I can't help you but if anyone is looking for any of the movies or later episodes I will take a look.
I wanted a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

Um... You do know it's against the rule to necro-post a thread that was last posted more than a year ago, right?

Well, as long as this is open...
VegettoEX wrote:"NGN" was "Nippon Golden Network", a legitimate TV channel that was based out of... err... was it Hawaii...? My Saiya-jin arc subs were theirs. I believe they did Z episodes 1-100, and at least some portion of the first TV series.
Wow. I just learned something. A large percentage of my fansubs are credited to this. I never knew it was an actual TV channel, though. And all of my DB fansubs were credited to them. I only had the 21st and 22nd Budoukais, but one would assume then that they covered all the intervening material as well. As a side note, I always found it odd that they never translated the previews but instead just wrote the word "PREVIEW" during it.

Ahhh, 5/8 guys. I miss you 5/8 guys, why aren't you on the Dragon Box along with the Dragon Ball ULTRA WRITING DESK!?

Yep. They aired subtitled Dr. Slump too, which to this day is the only English release of the anime series, legally produced or otherwise.
Actually, some months ago, I came upon a really bad VHS copy of an english pilot for Dr. Slump that surfaced. It has no credits other than a single 'Dr. Slump' title card, but from the voices used, it sounds like the Harmony Gold team. Since the audio was still good, I spent a few days last month restoring it with better footage since I actually wanted to watch it and not amorphous bouncing blobs.

I wish there was a place to talk about it, because it's sort of an interesting look into their mindset at the time when you examine the actual edits (which has some relation to why HG also tried doing DB instead I think... the stuff that got through was surprising, though.) But the thread would probably get locked, even though I think I could spin it in relation to the HG DB dubs a bit. If I can get a thumbs up, I'll post a bit about it.
My favorite movie henchman is Sancho.

Follow my stupid crap on Twitter. Please note, I do not have time to reply to any PMs about color correction methods anymore; sorry about that.

It really is too bad that we've never had a widespread domestic release of the Dr. Slump anime.

Speaking of Harmony Gold, I actually have VHS Rips of Movie 1 and 3 that were dubbed by Harmony Gold.

Not mine of course but it's interesting to see as itself. The dub isn't actually half bad.

Has anyone been able to find any recordings for the first 5 or so pilot airings for DB or are they lost forever?

If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! I had episodes 1-3 but lost them in a flood a year or so ago. But for someone to have a vhs tape for over 22 years is not that likely unless you meant to actually keep it.
