Pui Pui's appearance

Post by SilverPlaqueVII » Sat Jul 10, 2010 7:59 pm

I didn't notice Pui Pui looks similar to Freeza's third form.

Aren't they different to others? Pui Pui has two spikes and similar head shape of Apule with an appearance of Freeza's third form. This doesn't seem right?

So you're saying you didn't notice they looked similar and then you're saying "oh no they really don't"?

Well this was a fun thread.

They don't look very similar to me...

And that crap Pui-Pui wears on his chest looks like armor.

I wonder what kind of bed Pui-Pui must have to use.

I always wondered how 3rd form Freeza wore a hat.

He couldn't wear a hat until he reached his final form.

So that's the form he must take to go to baseball games.

It is, because we see some of Babidi's other goons wearing the same thing.

There are some similarities here and there, but this could easily be attributed to Toriyama's tendency to recycle character designs here and there. With as many different characters as he's made over the years (not just in the manga he's written, but also in the characters he's designed for video games such as the Dragon Quest series and Chrono Trigger), it's pretty much impossible to not have some level of recycling going on.

There is only one guy similar to Pui-Pui in the manga. It is probably from the same planet than he is and I doubt that is armor. At least not artificial armor.

I don't know, that minion's face didn't look too similar to Pui-Pui's. Anyway, Pui-Pui's Daizenshuu 7 bio says that "all of Babidi’s ordinary soldiers are equipped with the same uniform as him".

I'd be inclined to say the same. However, going by that, it seems likely that his headpiece is a helmet of some kind, rather than his actual head, seeing as they look like they're made of the same kind of material.
Unless of course the armour was designed to match his head...

Anyway, yes - the similarities between third form Freeza and Pui Pui are probably just a case of coincidence and/or character design recycling.

Pui Pui's model was probably created by using Frieza's 3rd form and Lord Slug's foot soldiers for reference:

Nah, I highly doubt there was any similarities intended between Slug's soldiers and Pui Pui.

If you're asking for an opinion then yes, I've always considered Pui Pui's appearance similar to 3rd form Freeza's in some way.

EDIT: Typo fix'd.

Yes they do look similar with the elongated head and the back spikes, although Pui Pui's chest plate and in turn the spikes are definately armour.

They both look like a Xenomorph aswell from the Alien franchise:

I wonder how strong Pui Pui is compared to Freeza.

He isn't. :P It is hard to gauge his strength but I personally place him equal to Raditz or Nappa.

While Kaioshin was an idiot, I don't think he was such an idiot. He knew that Babidi gathers the strongest beings to his possesion. Kaioshin could have killed Freeza easily, but still wanted to attack Pui Pui together with everyone.

No, he didn't. That is Yakon, which is arguably n times stronger than Freeza.
