Dragonball Z Sagas: This game has got to be the worst pile of rubbish ever released. Ultimate Battle 22 and Final Bout both grew on me as a kid. Awesome games.

And despite the flawed, broken nature of Ultimate Battle 22, I found it strangely addictive. I still came back time after time to build up my character in Build-Up Mode. That game was probably my first true taste of Dragon Ball, one of the factors that entered me into Dragon Ball fandom, which is probably why I can tolerate it a bit more than Final Bout and Legacy Of Goku.Thanos wrote:Ultimate Battle 22, Final Bout and DBZ CCG are, yes, horrendous and deserve to be killed with fire, however...

I got Sagas and some Soul Calibur game around the same time, and I actually somehow got more fun out of Sagas than Soul Calibur. That (being) said, Sagas is probably the worst game I've ever played in my life and ever will play. It is the very worst game.

I don't know the name of it. Majin Vegeta is the only form of Vegeta that is playable. Only SSJ Goku (huh?!). Most of the fights were cut out. Some of the fights you have to lose on purpose which is pointless. As for gameplay, it isn't that fun.

It seems to me you're talking about Hyper Dimension on the SNES, which is one helluva awesome game, good sir!ringworm128 wrote:I don't know the name of it. Just remembering about it, makes me want to play it right now. It had a very good fighting system and detailed graphics that really pushed the console's abilities. *goes off to play instead of studying*

Those fights you could win by the way, you could just get away with losing too. Anyway the Story Mode didn't mean piss all in games back then, it was all about the fighting system. Hyper Dimension had an awesome one. You must of had a hard time figuring out all the cool shit you can do. Knocking your opponent into several different arenas, jumping into the background and jerking back into the foreground with an attack. A combo health/KI bar that accurately represented the fatigue the Z warriors go through after using attacks. It also had a huge variety of KI and physical attacks.

Anywho, the worst Dragon Ball game ever is probably the first Budokai... I hate to seem like a Sparking! purist (which I guess I kind of am), but c'mon. Ends at the Cell Saga. Yellow Kamehamehas. Abysmal graphics (as bad as Sagas). Every character is literally the same (before any of you get raging hard-on, the premise that Sparking! is the same way is easily refuted). Transformations do dick. No Japanese voice option for American players. Every character is the same size. And on, and on, and on.
I actually found ways to enjoy Taiketsu and Sagas. Dunno how, but they honestly aren't that bad (meaning bad, but not as much as people say they are).
I was Thanos before the MCU existed!

Re: Worst Dragon Ball game
Taiketsu, hands down, for me. It's possibly the worst fighter I've ever played, let alone the worst DBZ game. For the sake of not spamming I'll say why I dislike it. The graphics are pretty bad, for one thing, and the characters just don't look anything like themselves. The game itself is sluggish and the controls are akin to that of the very first Street Fighter game.
There was this hilarious DB game that some company made from the original arcade Ninja Gaiden, called "Dragon Bowl." I think that was the name anyway. I'll throw that one into the hat too, although it's not official.

Re: Worst Dragon Ball game
From what little I've played of Taiketsu, I have to say that GT: Final Bout is worse. I didn't think Taiketsu was that bad either, it could have been worse anyway. Funny story with Final Bout though, My brother actually got a new copy from GameStop a few years back marked as used. It was still in the shrink wrap and everything. Come to think of it I got Elite Beat Agent from Hastings the same way about a year ago for $10-- *stops getting dangerously off topic*
In regards to Sparking!, I like all of them pretty well (have yet to play Raging Blast), but I always thought that their controls would work better for a non-fighting game. Maybe I'm just weird.
This will never not be my sig:

Agreed. I'm cutting Taiketsu a bit of slack here, because it's on the Game Boy Advance. If Webfoot released it on the PS2, then it would be a different story.Sun-Wukong wrote:

Don't worry Sagas buddy, I like the game too. It had a LOT of flaws yes but it has a lot of cool moments too.Sun-Wukong wrote:I actually liked Sagas... To each his own I suppose.

Thank you, someone else that see what I mean. It was a fun beat em' up and you could play as so many characters. You could play as Future Gohan with or without both arms, they beat Sparking METEOR to the punch by a few years with that.Blue wrote:Don't worry Sagas buddy, I like the game too.
