That's about right. That sort of thing is pretty standard with a lot of shows. That's why I was always confused during the first arc in Kai when people were like, "OH NOES NO NEW SONGS THIS WEEK NERD RAGE KILL!!!!!!!111"

I'd say it's because Kai has a lot less silence in it compared to Z. So the music "over-usage" is much more noticeable.

While topping DBZ's song will be hard, as that scene is one of the moments that blew me away as a kid looking for DBZ clips online. It was one of my first exposures to the Japanese version, and will always stand the test of time as an 'awesome anime moment' for me.

If Kai gets a song that tops it, then I'll be surprised, but hey, who knows? If they manage to get Kageyama to do a song though, that would be pretty awesome because if they're going to make the scene more 'hotblodded' or something, then at least they'd have the voice for it.

A song trying to capture the original feeling would be best regardless of singer, however. If it's normal BGM that would be...unsatisfying.
I think I'll be buying assorted Dragon Ball things for the rest of my life.
