I wish I was eight again. Just to confirm if these edits would be an attack on my intelligence as a kid.

Did they do the research and figure out that kids whose parents pay for premium cable networks are less susceptible to moral corruption and can therefore handle more?
It's because the FCC actually regulates network TV, whereas for cable and premium, the networks make their own regulations.

But, Network TV has it's own regulators as well to prevent themselves from getting fined millions of dollars. Those people are the ones who said no bullets in a kid's show.

As mentioned before, it's not any special network. Toonzai is just a block run by 4Kids on Saturday mornings on the CW channel, which is standard television. It can be received on any TV. I currently have no cable and my TV is a basic, SD, non-digital TV. Was able to see the block without problem (save for some fuzz).

Toonzai is just a block, not a network.

How stupid does 4kids think American kids are? A shotgun shoots glowing bullets, really? At least 4kids is acknowledging that Dragon Ball and Yu-Gi-Oh! are in fact Japanese, with the whole "Toonzai" thing they've got going on.

Could of been worst, they would of turned the shotgun into a water gun like what they did in One Piece. :|

The OP also been censored! In the original version and NickToons version Vegeta punch Goku but in the 4kids version, it's goes with Vegeta charging he's fist then goes straight to Galick Gun!

This is all very sad. Very sad indeed. If they're gonna butcher everything, including the damn opening, why not just go all out and do one of their famous replacement jobs? At least then it would be so absurd I could laugh at it. Something like this... *ahem*

YO-ya-yo, ya-yo
Dreamin', don't give it up Goku
Dreamin', don't give it up Piccolo
Dreamin', don't give it up Gohan
Dreamin', don't give it give it up give it up give it up give it up give it NO!

Here's how the story goes we find out
About a treasure scattered around the planet
Theres no doubt, The Saiyan who's eye on it
He'll sing Come forth dragon!
I'm gonna get my wish
Ya-yo, ya-yo ya-yo, ho-ho

His name is Goku
That's Son Goku
Gonna be the world's strongest!
He's a Saiyan - (female singers) how did that happen?
Yo-ho-ho his daddy Bardock got some!
Ya-yo, ya-yo
His name's Piccolo, He's just like a Yoshi
And a P-A-N-S-Y Gohan's super shy
The Z crew coming through, doin' their thing,
With the world's strongest, he's gonna be Super!
Ya-yo, ya-yo, yao-yo, hoo-hoo

Fly high for Dragon Ball, it's the name of the treasure on Earth!
Ya-yo, ya-yo
Fly high for Dragon Ball!

Okay, so that might have made it worse. The 4kids version sounds pretty friggin bad, though. I'm going to have to try and catch it on someday.

You guys forget just how strict Saturday-morning television can be; it's not normally as easy to notice, because American shows are animated with that in mind rather than censored afterward. Anyone who remembers the '90s Spider-Man animated series can attest to this, what with the lasers and no direct contact from Spider-Man by his fists. I really do wonder why they even try adapting martial arts shows to Saturday morning standards these days...
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I change the lyrics a little!
YO-ya-yo, ya-yo

Dreamin', don't give it up Piccolo
Dreamin', don't give it up Gohan
Dreamin', don't give it give it up give it up give it up give it up give it NO!

That's Son Goku
Gonna be the world's strongest!
He's a Saiyan - (female singers) how did that happen?
Yo-ho-ho he eats McDonald!
Yo-yo, ya-yo
His name's Piccolo, He's just like a Yoshi
And a P-A-N-S-Y Gohan's super shy
The Z crew coming through, doin' their thing,
With the world's strongest, he's gonna be Super!

I always thought he was saying "dino die no" in the One Piece rap. Either way, I quite liked that song. It was very catchy.

I always thought they said "Kaio - Kaio!!!!" instead of "ya-yo" and "Streamin'" instead of "dreamin'"

Oh, that would explain why I haven't become a Saiyan.

Sorry about the sarcasm. I'm in a bad mood because Altus just announced another Persona 3 rehash. Atlus has seriously screwed MegaTen.
