Did the absorbed characters in Cell and Boo regenerate?

As we all know Cell absorbed 17 and 18 while Boo absorbed Gohan, Gotenks and Piccolo.
During the course of both character's respective saga battles, they losed and regenerated there body parts... a lot. At one point Goku blows Cell's entire upper waist off, which begs the question: What happen to the androids? Unless his body squeezed the two of them to his lower waist to be protected, the only other explanation is regeneration for the pair. Boo is pretty much in the same boat but at least he gets the excuse of being a magical being so who knows...

They regenerated when Cell did. Otherwise, #18 couldn't have been spat out.

For Boo, I'm not entirely sure they were ever even hit. They were shrunken down to the size of a small bug, after all.

I think for #17 and #18 they would had to have been shrunk down in some manner as well, since given the size of Cell's perfect form, it's highly unlikely that he would have been able to fit both of them within his body if they were full sized. I've held a theory that when they were absorbed through his tail, they were encapsulated into his body in some form of cocoon and rigged to supply him power. When Gohan was fighting Cell and delivered the punch to his head that eventually caused #18 to be vomited up, the blow damaged the regulation system supporting her cocoon, causing her to begin reverting back to her normal size. Because his body couldn't support her if she reverted entirely to her original size, he uncontrollably threw her up.

So again, in the case of Buu, I think it's possible that they didn't get hit by any of the attacks that caused Cell to regenerate parts of his body.

With Cell, I wonder if him getting so darn big had anything to do with Gohan managing to get him to vomit up No.18. Kinda like Goku tricking Piccolo into growing big enough for him to go inside his body and rescue God. Kinda.

Looking at it from a meta level, I always figured it did. I'm sure part of the reason Toriyama had Cell bulk up there was because that version of Cell would look less weird vomiting up a full grown woman. It never really occurred to me to look at Cell's bulking up allowing him to vomit #18 from an in-universe perspective, but I suppose it makes sense in a Dragon Ball kind of way.
