Or something along those lines.

Tenshinhan, when getting ready to blast Cell, he says something along the lines of "With the regards from Mister no-account!"

It's so not Tenshinhan.

"Having these balls makes me feel something that resembles joy, I think...I want to caress them."

There was simply no need for the Ocean Dub to add this inappropiate, blatantly homosexual line to Freeza. Could they make him more gay?

Honestly, that still remains one of my favorite lines ever, along with, "I'm coming, Zarbon. Quick! Grab my balls!" Oh, wait, the latter was from Abridged.

This scene is everything that was WRONG with those days. But it does make me chuckle.

I agree with everything you said. My probably, especially with seasons 3 and 4, were just how heavy-handed the dialogue was. Villains in DBZ tend to be kind of smooth. But in the dub, Freeza is cracking constant puns and Vegeta is screaming every line and shows an affinity for insulting analogies. Freeza's a dick because he's so polite while doing the evil things he does. Japanese Freeza would kill you mother and then apologize for getting carried away, and dub Freeza would make a joke about how she went squick. Just how many mechanical objects did Vegeta pull out of his repertoire to poke fun at the Artificial Humans? The original he basically just calls them wind up dolls, or something to that effect. And even lines that were correct had an extra exclamation point or two added to delivery. The scene with #19 is an example. Him just kind of quietly musing whether or not machines feel fear turns into him screaming it.

Actually, for my entry, I'll say "Be quiet! I'd rather Freeza's scouters didn't detect us because of your incessant jabbering! Besides all this scary talk is upsetting the Namek." I say inappropriate, because in the original he was actually contributing to the conversation. He was telling everyone to lower their power (the APPROPRIATE way to fool a scouter), and actually went as far as to compliment Piccolo for having snuck in without everyone noticing with his power already supressed. Not yelling like a jackass (seriously, what sense does it make to shout "SHUT UP THEY'LL HEAR YOU!!!!!!") and lobbing insults that didn't even match the visuals.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

For that matter it doesn't make a lick of sense because since when do scouters pick up sound anyway (aside from the transmissions of other scouters)? So what the hell does it matter how loud they are unless they're loud enough for Freeza and his men to physically hear them?

Thank goodness for Kai, right?

The only bad line now is "I hate the media" which isn't that bad considering it is only one line. Surely you must be proud of Funi for being so accurate with Kai? It is much better than that train-wreck they had before.

Also, back from the old Z dub (groan)...

"Its the 9th inning and here comes the pitch, game over... you lose"- Garlic Jr.
"It just says dear Freeza... and then theres a picture of a butt"

I heard rumor that since the Ocean cast were nearing the end of dubbing S2, this line was purposely put in by someone to see if it would slip by the censors. Don't know if there is truth to it, so take it as you will.

However in contrast to their attempts to "gay" Freeza with inappropriate lines (S3), they went out of their way to "not gay" General Blue in similar fashion in the original DB dub. For instance, when he sees Obotchaman, he says something along the lines of "It's my brother!" which was kinda inappropriate (considering the sparkles and other signs of Blue eyeballing him in a homosexual manner). All in an attempt to cover the original dialouge "My type" (implying Blue's homosexuality) which was considered inappropriate by American censorship standards.

But then again maybe they felt it's okay to be gay....as long as you're an evil alien.

A month or two ago I pestered my friend Syd to watch the episode where Mr. Satan throws Android #16's head and (16) talks to Gohan.
She watched it, heard #16 say something about "you are gentle, and do not like to hurt" and basically WTF'd on how that all was worded.
...and now I can't stop laughing every time I think of that shit.
Late last night and the night before
Tommyknockers, Tommyknockers,
knocking at the door.
I want to go out, don't know if I can,
'cause I'm so afraid
of the Tommyknocker man.
My name is Zep, as in Hindle. If you call me Keamy instead, it's Kay-mee, not Kee-mee, there is a difference. And dammit Serp, my name is not spelled "Kreamy".

Well, it's pretty much what he said in Japanese.

The real problem comes when in the dub you hear Gohan pretty much repeat what he just said in his mind.

Android 16: Let your anger out. Protect nature. I, too, love life.

*head is crushed*

Gohan: Android 16 loved life!

Thanks, Gohan. We weren't just there.

Not only was this not in the Japanese version (because we have "Spirit vs Spirit" starting up), but it was extremely redundant, even for DBZ.
