Buu absorption question
Buu absorption question
How come in the manga and anime, Vegetto's fusion was ended immediatly after being absorbed by Buu, but the Gotenks fusion was allowed to run it's course after being absorbed?
Re: Buu absorption question
Potara Fusion and Fusion Dance are two different fusion types.

Re: Buu absorption question
Well, they never did explain why one kind worked inside Boo while the other didn't. Goku just mumbles something about "bad air" after Vegetto splits up.hleV wrote:Potara Fusion and Fusion Dance are two different fusion types.

Yup, that's how I'd explain it.

Re: Buu absorption question
Other than it being two different methods of fusing, there's also the possibility that people who are truly absorbed and put into those pod things aren't exposed to the "bad air", much like Vegetto wasn't while he had a barrier up. It makes sense if you think about it; Buu would want to absorb someone like Vegetto without making him weaker, but he wouldn't want him walking around inside him doing whatever he wanted.

Re: Buu absorption question
Piccolo is a fusion also and he was immune.
It's just a shitty author declaration to get ~GOKU~ back.
Why the hell would want Buu wants affect Vegetto at all. Vegetto survived being made a candy.Buu would want to absorb someone like Vegetto without making him weaker, but he wouldn't want him walking around inside him doing whatever he wanted.

Re: Buu absorption question
Vegetto was not absorbed like Gotenks, Piccolo or anyone else.
Vegetto made some kind of a force field.
So he was not caught by that pods linking to Buu's body.
Fusion ended when that force field was turned off.
And I thonk the dancing fusion, potara's fusion and Nameck's fusion are all different.

Re: Buu absorption question
I've always believed that it was due to Gotenks being protected by a layer of Boo's flesh whilst inside his body and therefore not being exposed to the "bad air" Goku mentioned later.

Lol Buu should have won, when he turned Vegetto into candy, what a perfect ending, that would have beenRocketman wrote:Piccolo is a fusion also and he was immune.

And about that "shitty author declaration" blame it on the japanese Goku fanboys
I personally wanted "Mystic asspull Gohan", as you put it, to save the day by being teleported to Kaioshin kai and destroying Majin Buu.

I would dislike that, since it would be repetitive and just recycle the whole idea of Gohan realizing his true potential and defeating the main villain, just like at the Cell Game (and we know how that turned outdbgtFO wrote:I personally wanted "Mystic asspull Gohan", as you put it, to save the day by being teleported to Kaioshin kai and destroying Majin Buu.

Re: Buu absorption question
You're right it actually would, but one thing I will say is that I actually liked the idea of having the people of Earth helping to stop the Big Bad and that it showed the earthlings "repaying their debts" after Goku and Co. have done it so many times.Piccolo Daimao wrote:I would dislike that, since it would be repetitive and just recycle the whole idea of Gohan realizing his true potential and defeating the main villain, just like at the Cell Game (and we know how that turned outdbgtFO wrote:I personally wanted "Mystic asspull Gohan", as you put it, to save the day by being teleported to Kaioshin kai and destroying Majin Buu.).
Re: Buu absorption question
Fusion Dance is a technique.
Potara Fusion is something produced from magical items called Potara Earrings. Majin Buu is a magical being and his magic conflicts with the other magic inside him.

Re: Buu absorption question
I always liked to try and rationalize why that happened, like if I were to rewrite DBZ or something this is how I would explain that particular event.
The best idea I could come up with is that Buu's system kind of tried to "digest" Vegetto by breaking him down into pieces it could handle. Sure, it's not a great explanation and probably brings up more plotholes, but I'd say it's a bit more in depth than just "I dunno, magic gas?"

Re: Buu absorption question
I always figured that the fact that Vegetto successfully defended against being absorbed (via the forcefield) somehow "interrupted" and messed up the absorption process. So somehow instead of being absorbed, it resulted in him being "broken down" and defusing.
