I don't necessarily disagree with you. I didn't mind that Sparking! Meteor/Tenkaichi 3 had all the characters from the previous game already unlocked. But with a roster as large as Spike likes to throw at us most times, I do admit that some of the unlocking can be tedious. I was already given 90% of these characters to play as over the past 5 years or so now, I unlocked them once, but now I have to work harder to do so again? Bah. That said, I don't necessarily want everything handed to me on a plate either.Rory wrote:Because I like Dragon Ball, and I assume people who have bought the games this far in also like Dragon Ball, and have stuck with the games. I've just explained why I (and many others) want things from the start, but you seem to be sticking the fingers in your ears and screaming La La La La La La!!
As many have said, if the game is good, you don't need to unlock things. You can hit up the online, the story, or just plain vs mode with friends to keep you entertained. This is the kind of game that just keeps on giving.
If the ultimate goal is to unlock everybody, what do you do after that? Go on the online? Then why not scratch the unlocking and give us the full online + all characters from the start, so we can dive right into it, and start having fun straight away. It's a cheap way of lengthening the game's lifespan.
I had this exact problem with Brawl, but that's straying from the topic.
In the case of RB2, the actual NEW characters I've never played as before, I wouldn't mind if they had to be unlocked. 14, 15, Neiz, Dore could be unlockables, I don't really care, but Tarble and Hatchihyack should definitely be IMO. Also, with the inclusion of the new special, the techniques and costumes that old characters gain based off the animation should have to be unlocked as well. That would be fair IMO, as that would be a max of 6 characters out of 100 to unlock, and from what reports have said...0 actual new costumes we haven't had before -_-, and probably less than 10 moves (maybe even less, since Vegeta and Freeza are the only ones confirmed with new moves) out of who knows how many.
