Re: Dragon Ball Heroes
We have never received a card-based DragonBall arcade game in North America (or, ya' know, any DragonBall arcade game!), and I wouldn't start holding my breath for one. This is just one of those Japanese-only things.Bardock No Sensei wrote:What do you mean by only in japan, do you mean we should´nt wait for it in the US?

Re: Dragon Ball Heroes
Do you not know what an arcade is? Your profile says you're from Manhattan -- head on down to the Chinatown Fair Arcade on Mott Street.
There used to be magical locations across North America where people could get together and play games against and with each other that looked and sounded exponentially better than what you could play at home. Some of these "arcade" games used different types of input, such as giant rubber mallets, driving wheels, and even playing cards.
Sometimes we get "ports" of arcade games, where they bring them to your home consoles. Sometimes they're better than the arcade originals, sometimes they're about the same, and sometimes they're much worse. Sometimes they can't bring them to home consoles at all because they're entirely different types of games than what your home consoles play.
This is one of them.

It was, yeah, but we never actually got the arcade machine over here -- just the PS2 port... which was easy, because it was a traditional style of game that essentially ran on PS2 hardware in the arcade.Innagadadavida wrote:Wasn't Super DBZ an arcade game? Re: Dragon Ball Heroes
Why did Akira Toriyama even bother designing a character for that game? Especially when the DBZ target audience isn't really interested in arcade games...VegettoEX wrote:It was, yeah, but we never actually got the arcade machine over here -- just the PS2 port... which was easy, because it was a traditional style of game that essentially ran on PS2 hardware in the arcade.Innagadadavida wrote:Wasn't Super DBZ an arcade game? Oh snap, you brought back the "Creepy Gaijin Julian hiding behind clothing racks to take creepy photos of little Japanese boys playing at an arcade" photo. :p

Re: Dragon Ball Heroes
Is this another example of your overwhelming indignity when presented with evidence that directly contradicts your false statements? 'Cuz it's starting to wear a little thin.
It's the clothing section of a supermarket. The fact that four kids are standing around a DBZ arcade machine at a random point in time in a clothing section a few years back is impressive in its own right.
Rather than sarcastically responding, perhaps you should just stop making such outrageous statements in the first place when you clearly have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. You're already walking a fine line with one account warning today.

I don't think Bardo117's last comment seemed snarky at all. It seemed like he was genuinely amused/surprised. VegettoEX might've jumped the gun a bit there.
But yeah. Arcades in general have a draw in Japan that they just don't in the U.S. They're much more prevalent, and lots of properties end up leasing arcade-game tie-ins.

This individual has consistently been posting inflammatory responses in various threads and consistently hiding behind an, "I'm just joking!!!" response each time. Despite an account warning, it has not stopped.Cipher wrote:I don't think Bardo117's last comment seemed snarky at all. It seemed like he was genuinely amused/surprised. If you cannot communicate clearly, you need to re-evaluate what it is you are posting before hitting "Submit". Sarcasm, cute or otherwise, does not come across properly on the Internet, especially when you're not even typing it properly in the first place.

You should quit insulting me all the time, how about that? You imply that I'm stupid with every post referring to me that you make. You don't give respect when it's not given to you.

It's not clear, but I'd assume he's referring to Super DragonBall Z and Toriyama's Mecha Freeza with Gun™.Herms wrote:Toriyama designed a character for the game?Bardo117 wrote:Why did Akira Toriyama even bother designing a character for that game?
