Am I the only one who doesn't like Colleen Clinkenbeard? She sounds like stock-kid-voice-number-two.

The more I hear it, the less I like it. But its still 100% better than the last dub portrayal.

I wasn't the one who brought him up. Mr. Mark was. I was simply extending my own point of view on his performance. And regardless of whether I've said it before, the real reason you're complaining is because you disagree. If somebody else stated an opinion you agree with that they said all the time, you wouldn't say a thing. Don't act like this board isn't a constant reprisal of everbody's mostly unchanging opinions.

But as it's been mentioned, this thread is about Freeza's new voice, which sounds absolutely stunning in that commercial.

My last comment on Goku: MR. Mark said nothing negative. You had to be a jackass about it plain and simple, and trust me Schemmel isn't the worst English Goku. The Big Green one is.

Freeza on the other hand we agree on. I have nothing but praise for Chris Ayres' Freeza, and I can't wait to hear more from him.

But seriously, I am in absolute awe over how much better this Freeza is over the past dub. This is why I love Kai so much. My favorite show is finally getting a proper script and proper voice actors in a language that doesn't sound like jibberish to my ears.

Indeed, I resent that I'm being brought into this just because of one fans never ending hate/bias/trolling for a certain voice actor. Sean was prominent in the nick trailer so I merely brought it up, but back to Ayres definitive english Freeza praise, by all means, please.

It really has been quite the journey with Ayers' Freeza, hasn't it? Most of us were so excited when they announced a new Freeza, then rather disappointed when we first heard him, then significantly happier as time went on, and now utterly jubilant about it.

He's always had a bit of that to his voice in the dub, but it's just more apparent now that his voice is lower.

It's kind of an American English thing. In my experience, British English is the go-to accent when one wants to depict gentleman, old fashion, or snobbery. Two of which apply to Freeza, I believe. Though the accent in question isn't predominant. There is a hint of it in Aryes's Freeza, if only in wording.

That's a bit of a nitpick, in my opinion. There's only a slight difference between the two sounds "Mey" and "meh". I said the word "Kamehameha" as "Kah-meh-hah-meh-ha" in school the other day, and my friends still said "Mey". The pronounciation doesn't have to be 100% exact correct all the time. I can live with "Mey".

The only time it gets on my nerves is when it's a complete shambles of what it's supposed to be. E.g. "Kai-o-ken" and "Kay-o-ken". The latter doesn't even sound similiar to the formal, especially when they get the correct prounciation for the guy who made it up.

I thought the problem was, when rushed, they often did Kameyameya during Z, but usually did the proper Ka-me-ha-me-ha in slower moments.

I haven't noticed any yas in the dub thus far.

Well, it was really that, when they would say it as simply a word, they'd mispronounce it as the name of the Hawaiian king. It was only when they called it out syllable by syllable that they would be forced to pronounce it correctly (and even then, particuarly if it was a shorter one, they'd sometimes just do an elongated mispronouncation).
