Yeah, but, again, you might as well keep Haiyaa Dragon or any other useless filler character if you're going to keep Paikuhan. As far as I know, the only significant filler character that has been kept is Gregory, and that's only because it would have been impossible to cut around him, and he had some of Kaio's lines.

While I don't particularly hate Paikuhan, he really was just a" Piccolo light" to me. He can join the fluff and filler on the much deserved cutting room floor.

I agree with you there. He was Piccolo's melted-face, slightly spiffier outfitted cousin. Not bad, but certainly not anything special. The whole "cursing at blobs" scene would have been exactly the same had it been Piccolo instead.

I must admit some of the cuts are jarring and this will be. Going from Trunks kicking the androids ass to grown up Gohan in high school...hmm.

I must admit some of the cuts are jarring and this will be. Going from Trunks kicking the androids ass to grown up Gohan in high school...hmm.

It worked out just fine in the manga... All they have to do is end one episode with Trunks killing Cell, and start the next episode with Gohan flying to school. It won't seem jarring if they do it that way.
