Re: Dragon Ball Online Original Story
I really like the concept of Goku and Vegeta realizing their time is near and having one last battle before they die, that seems very....Saiyan of them. Boo's breeding is awkwardly hilarious and very Dragonball, all the Majins starting a theme park is pretty cute too. Outside of that I can't help but to feel very "meh" about this. I'll probably feel different if we end up getting a manga adaption of all of this though.

How old are Goku and Vegeta when they disappear and have their final battle?

This is awesome. I love it! I personally didn't like GT. The only time I was actually excited to see GT was before it was ever released in the US and all I could see was the "epic" SS4 images on my AOL internet. haha.
I really hope this game makes its way over to the states.

Fifty-seven and seventy-one if you take into consideration the years Goku remained dead and time spent in the RoSaT.JulieYBM wrote:Sixty-four and sixty-nine, I believe.Castor Troy wrote:How old are Goku and Vegeta when they disappear and have their final battle?

Re: Dragon Ball Online Original Story
Oh man how can I forget Kuririn taking over for Roshi, that's absolutely amazing. I guess the more I think about this the more stoked I become. I just hate a lot of the obvious "this needs to happen because this needs to be in the game" stuff. (Although I have to give them props on not wussing out and making some dumb excuse as to why there can be full blood Saiyans.) At first I didn't love the idea of Tenshinhan starting a Crane dojo but after thinking about it, it does make sense. IIRC he has always respected the Crane School even after despising his master and his brother. It seems to make sense he'd try to pass the style on to the future and hopefully bring a better name to the style.
I think that's the best part of DBO, people other then Goku get to do stuff. They didn't sit at home eating nachos and wait for a cameo appearance. It really helps convey that they're all thinking about the future and trying their best to find people who will protect the planet if ever the need arises. Which is cool because that's precisely what Goku wanted to do with Gohan, Gotenks and Oob. I guess being dead will make you think about that stuff.
Mentioning of Oob did we hear anything about him yet? What about Yamcha? Oolong and Puar? I hope there's more story information coming our way.

I agree, it would make it so much easier; because a good portion of DBO information is spread out across multiple sites right now it's hard for me to find places to link to. I'd really like to see a tidbit on the site for it the way there's one for "Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans".JulieYBM wrote:Oh yeah, that hadn't occured to me. GT to me is about as official as any of the DBZ movies. Sure Toriyama did some designs here and there, but that hardly compares to DBO where he's actively involved in the story. Not to mention it shows with all the great ideas and gag humor.NeoKING wrote:Hating GT's story seems to be the hip thing among some fans, but I don't get it. The only nice thing I can say about GT is that it had a pretty good ending.
Re: Dragon Ball Online Original Story
The final battle between Goku and Vegeta is such a great idea that it should have been the end of the manga. I don`t really care for the rest.
It shouldn`t show us who won, but it would be great if after Goku left with Uub, the manga had a timeskip to that time where Goku and Vegeta decided to go.

You should know by now that there's never enough hentai. In fact I bet there's someone out there right now making a DBO hentai doujinshi about Buu and his wife... No, it's not me.Piccolo Daimao wrote:Your grand collection of Dragon Ball hentai isn't enough for you?Scarz wrote:"Bob and Margaret's Forbidden Games."

Wait, so...Goku doesn't have that thousand and some odd years or whatever that he received from Elder Kaioshin?

Apparently not. It's not as if the Elder Kaioshin ever said he'd give Goku his lifespan, just his life.Perfect wrote:Wait, so...Goku doesn't have that thousand and some odd years or whatever that he received from Elder Kaioshin?

Although, it would be awesome if the DBO people had thought of this and used it as an excuse to have Goku around in age 1000.Herms wrote:Apparently not. Yeah, plus I'm skeptical whether Goku's body would even be able to handle living that long, since he's not a god or a Namekian. I do see him as living for hundreds of years yet though, due to reaching near-immortal sennin status (like Kame-sennin and Taopaipai) through training. Doesn't it say that it was Vegeta who realized he was reaching the rapidly-ageing process and then wished him and Goku off to another planet? If I was to take DBO as canon, I could just say Vegeta knew he was coming to the end of the line, had him and Goku have their final battle and they both died.Herms wrote:Apparently not. DBGT continue the storyline of anime.AnimeMaakuo wrote:In my opinion.. it's part of everything. The "Anime" is where it's expressed and brought more into detail. I think a book is a book with ideas and a story. Putting it on the "Anime-format," is where it all counts. My opinion though.
I also heard that Akira Toriyama was going to make "Manga" 'GT' copies, but it was halted because of low budget. So then he decided to work on it through the "Anime."
Here are my point to consider:
* Akira Toriyama was involved in "GT."
* "GT" is considered an official part of the "Series."
* "GT" uses materials that were already in the "Manga."
So what does it matter? So he never made an "Official" print. He was already involved and used ideas from the "Manga," so it IS "Canon" to me. I don't care what is what, If he had involvement & put up something as big as "GT".. then it's good enough for me.
DBO continue the storyline of manga.
It´s that simple.
The anime and manga story is different. There are two different storylines.
The anime is canon with the anime, and the manga is canon with the manga. But separately.
Anime history: TV Serie (DB, DBZ, DBGT, DBKAI), Films, OVAs, TV Specials, Special chapters...
Comic history: DB manga and DBO.
We must never assume that the manga and anime are the same story. Inevitably, we see it as two different stories.
They are two different things.

Uh, GT is a continuation of the Manga aswell.HECTOR4 wrote: DBGT continue the storyline of anime.

Re: Dragon Ball Online Original Story
GT uses filler exclusive plot points in its own plot. Like the sacret water that was used agaisnt Garlic. In GT its used agaisnt Baby and its a pretty huge plot point.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:Uh, GT is a continuation of the Manga aswell.HECTOR4 wrote: DBGT continue the storyline of anime.
DBO continue the storyline of manga.
So, GT is intended to be a continuation of the anime (with its filler and all) and not a continuation of the manga.

Yes, but it can still be a continuation of the Manga (that draws from filler in DBZ).rereboy wrote: GT uses filler exclusive plot points in its own plot. Like the sacret water that was used agaisnt Garlic. In GT its used agaisnt Baby and its a pretty huge plot point.

Re: Dragon Ball Online Original Story
Only because the story from the manga and the anime are very, very similar. But that doesn`t change the fact that it was conceived as a continuation to the anime. Hence why they didn´t hesitate to built its plot on filler elements.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:Yes, but it can still be a continuation of the Manga (that draws from filler in DBZ).rereboy wrote: GT uses filler exclusive plot points in its own plot. Re: Dragon Ball Online Original Story
No, in the manga don´t exist the tuffles (tsufurs) (the race of Baby and Raichi), don´t exist Ryuuken Bakuhatsu (Attack of the Dragon), etc.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:Uh, GT is a continuation of the Manga aswell.HECTOR4 wrote: DBGT continue the storyline of anime.
DBO continue the storyline of manga.
The anime and manga are different histories:
For example: In the anime Videl discovers Great Saiyaman differently than manga. Goku knows Ten-Shin-Han differently. And many more differencies. There are differences in the story, are not the same thing.
Some colors and designs are different. Karin in the manga are blue, in the anime are white. Piccolo (and all namekians) in the manga have four fingers, in the anime have five fingers...And many other things are different.
AH!!! And DBGT don´t exist in the manga.
