Broly's Green Ki

Post by Super Vegito » Thu Nov 04, 2010 5:44 pm

I always wondered why Broly has green ki. Any information on this?

Also, does anyone know why he... distorts the atmosphere[?]. You can see what I mean in this pic:

That's in the middle of his LSSJ transformation, and this also happens for his more powerful ki blasts.

Thanks.

The distorted atmosphere thingy is seen a few other times throughout the series... just for the Cool, I guess.

The green aura is perhaps a very concentrated SSj color..? Or a corrupted/mutated version of it?
It's all GOOD

The green tint to his Ki and hair in Movie 8 was supposed to be a side-effect of Paragus' control device, I think. I'm pretty sure it's no longer there in Movie 10.

Actually, it is.

Its just not as evident or prominent as it was in movie 8. And since his mind control days are long gone, the fact that he presents green aura or energy, even for brief instants, kind of negates the side effect theory, at least in my opinion.

That's not aura, but some kind of green barrier around Broly.

Its his energy. The energy that Brolly emits in that final struggle is green and even his hair becomes green/greenish while he is emitting that energy. I'm pretty sure we can classify it as his aura.

And if the green energy is really a side effect of the mind controlling device then he shouldn`t present green energy, aura, beams or barriers at all since it has been years since he was controlled. Clearly there is something else going on (at least in my opinion).

I always assumed his ki was green as part of the whole "broccoli" pun, since it's a green vegetable.

But then I also guessed the reason he chose a carrot pun for Goku's saiyajin name is because his gi's already conveniently orange.

Isn't Broli's blood green too? Must be something in his diet.

Haha, that's actually not a bad theory. XD

So, this inspired a completely different form of energy for a friend of mine. Whether or not this concept included Broli using this energy remains... unclear?
I think he associated it with the Chaos Emeralds from Sonic the Hedgehog. And thus, gave an original character with a connection to Broli power over "chaos energy". Over time, this concept developed into something that I at least find rather epic that plays a major role in his original fiction.

I don't think he applied it to Broli himself, though, unless it was, as Kaboom says, linked to Broli being controlled by Paragus. My reasoning is that Broli wound up playing a major role in an RPG we were involved in (I didn't participate much at all), and nothing in there hinted that Broli was using Chaos Energy... or green ki at all.
(Even though this RPG warps the DBZ-verse after a while, I found that Broli's inclusion worked surprisingly well.)

... I'd totally plug this guy's writing if there was enough available to plug. I guess there's his 2006 NaNoWriMo project, The Tralos Conspiracy and its sequel. We are both fully aware of the imperfections, but I think they're both super-awesome anyway. XD

I think it's something to do with the legendary super saiya-jin form because it's different from the regular super saiya-jin levels and that's why broly's aura appears to be green rather then golden-yellow colour. The device on broly head is also responsble to the aura to change colour aswell.

I always thought it was just the style/ tint of the movie. All the movies have different color schemes, which really cool especially like movie 5 and all the evening colors. In my opinion Brolly's ki looks awesome, but his hair in movie 8 looks gross.

I figured it was a stylish effect. Nothing more than aesthetics. Remember Super #17's orange aura he briefly had?

It would have been cooler if Broli had a white-flame aura, like the Super Saiyans did in the Manga colored panels.

Maybe its just his abilities that are green like a Kamehameha is blue and he only appears green at the end of the movie because he's got a green barrier and energy ball going.

Exactly.

In 10th movie Broli is no longer green, which denies the idea of Broli being green because of his uniqueness -- if the later contradicts the earlier, the later must be right -- which leaves us with no other choice but to treat 8th movie Broli's greenness nothing but a side effect due to breaking that device. During the last moments of the 8th movie the effect seemes to have disappeared, BTW.
However, Broli tends to have all (?) of his Ki attacks in green color. Either it's just a coincidence or it has something to do with his uniqueness. Kamehameha has always had blue color, no matter who performed it. Maybe Broly just doesn't know other way of charging his attacks but the one making them green.
