Ah. That makes me sad. I'm one of the very few who enjoys the dub cast. I would've figured that assuming Okatron5000 took care of the dubbing of the game characters they'd do this special too. Oh well. At least we get it one way or another.

Well, I only have a couple of minor gripes with this remake. Because, hey, what's better than complaining on the Internet?

The first was it's pace. Yeah, sure, a whole bunch of the useless filler-y moments were excised, but I couldn't shake the feeling that things were just whizzing past me. No major retardation, but worth pointing out, I think. Then, there's the art. I wasn't particularly fond of this art style to begin with, but comparatively speaking -- some of it's worst features (to me, of course) were accentuated here. The "small eyes, chubby neck" thing was played up even more than it was in the Returns special / movie. All in all, the music was still much more enjoyable than in the original version, and fast-paced beats slow-paced, so I wouldn't mind it if this remake were accepted as the new, shiny, official version of the OVA.

Love the quality but hate the quantity put it. They shortened it and took out so much from the original. That was a bit disappointing. The grammar as well got to me. Goku saying 'ain't' just doesn't cut it, "will not" or "are not" are his lines...

Why did they have to mention Broli.......Jesus Christ, you would have thought that that sh**hole of a character would never be mentioned outside his own Movie Specials. But no, they just had to do that.....

In the original, doesn't Hatchiyhack repeat "Saiya-jins!" He speaks like he's actually literate here, and of course...pulls a Broli and screams GOKU when he dies...god how terrible....I was disappointed. The quality was amazing....but that's not everything

@Zionist: First of all, Goku mentioned Broli in the original OVA, too. It had nothing to do with the massive Broli fanbase or anything. And also, I'm pretty sure Hatchhyack just yelled, "Impossible!!" when he died.

Goku's a hick. He was raised in the wilderness by a single man. A proper translation of his grammar includes poor grammar, because that's just how Goku talks. And why complain about a harmless line that was included in the original version? Hatchiyack and Broly made their debut around the same time, so if we're to go with your line of thinking, it was an appeal to a nonexistent fanbase.

The best part about the remake was Piccolo wasn't the useless "Gohan-saving, Senzu delivering Shit Bag" he was in the original. He actually played a part in defeating Hatchiyack. Oh, and no "They're Ghost Warriors! Disappear!!!!"

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. Yeah, he was compared to Broly in the original and Goku is a country bumpkin as well. I do understand the whole 'Goku' thing, that's quite annoying and I would much, much prefer 'Saiyans'.

Fair enough, I haven't seen it yet so I'm just going by what that guy was saying. Seeing as I know the word in Japanese, it should at least soften the blow if I squint at the screen or something when the subtitles come on.
