Just finished watching it... Question... Weren't Freeza, Cooler, Tullece and Slug supposed to be killed again like they originally died, otherwise they would come back to life? Or was that in the original "Plan to ..."?

Yeah, that's what the seemingly random "They're ghost warriors!" deal was about. In the original, the fighters had to reenact the villains' deaths to permanently destroy them. I don't see how Mike and the gang missed that on the podcast review...

Wow...that was a pretty pointless plot point for them to throw in then, if the villains were just destroyed any old way.

Trunks did cut Freeza in half, though. I'm pretty sure the cut down the middle was what killed Freeza originally, not being sliced up.

Sure, the execution of it all was pretty weak, but you can see what the writers were going for...

Because it wasn't Tullece, it was a Ghost Warrior with extraordinary power who resembled Tullece.

Really?! I thought the Ghosts Warriors had the same power as their living counterparts, besides Dr. Raichi of course, but this absorbed all revenge power into himself. Freeza and Coola didn't seem particular stronger than the real ones.

Anyways, re-watching the older version, it makes me appreciate the remake's art more than I usually would or should. '93 Tullece's face was just broken...

Just watched it and I have to say I agree with this:

One thing that I didn't understand though - why was every single beam used by Goku and co. blue? I mean, okay Kamehameha makes sense...but Final Flash, Masenko, and Makankosappo too? In fact, every random energy blast they threw was blue. After watching the Anime and even looking at the coloured pages in the manga, this just feels wrong.

I liked the action in the feature, but as some people has pointed out the pacing is off, it could have been a bit longer IMO.
The scene where Trunks and Gohan fights Hatchihack together was the best fighting scene in the movie, as every succesive punch just felt great to watch. For some reason it's kinda ironic, that the best scene is where Hatchihack starts pounding both Gohan and Trunks at once.

I would probably only give it 6/10 to be honest.

I have seen the movie and I think the battle parts really entertained me the most and it proves that a 15 minute movie can entertain you for short period of time.

I recommend the OVA to someone who wants to learn some basic japanese as Goku counted numbers 1 to 15 in japanese. I'll give the ova 10/10.

Mostly pluses for this version...

I liked how it had a nicely done introduction compared to the original, nice background music, and the nice animation.
However, I didn't like how it felt rushed, or how that one scene where Bulma dropped all those capsules (felt corny).


Overall, nice job with the OVA, besides the Raging Blast 2 subtitles...

I agree I haven't seen the original ova of Plan To Destroy The Super Saiya-jins but remastering it sure does make it just as good as Dragonball Z Kai's graphics.
