You guys just don't give a damn about our DUB, but if they made a change like this to your precious Japanese DUB, you'd complaining about it twice as much as we are.

Fact:
Nozawa has played Goku for over 25 years.

Naldony how much...?

I guess not if you're not a fan of the dub anyway.
I actually sort of liked the Dragon Ball dub, save for some of the more liberal scripting and some of the main cast (Vollmer, mostly, is what bothered me). It was definitely better than DBZ's.

I can't be glad that a VA I like is replacing one I generally didn't?

I'd totally watch DBZ if Nozawa and Horikawa were replaced. >_>

I don't care who dubs what. But I enjoy the Malaysian English dub... so... This is my argument on this subject:

Why can't everyone just be like me, and be totally neutral towards dubs/languages and can just enjoy whatever the fuck version of the show they're watching?

It's not hard. I do it all the time. And now to quote myself earlier, which was promptly ignored for the sake of more bitching.
nathantheguitarist wrote:All of the bitching over the dub is pointless anyways. You still have two other Gokus in the other movies. If you're asking for consistency, too late. It's been inconsistent for years now.

The real confirmation here is that, this movie is finally getting an uncut English release for the first time ever. It's basically the last piece of DB to not receive an uncut release. It took so long, that two more animated specials came out while we were waiting for it!

Just be glad we're finally getting it, take it as a weird little nugget of info that it has yet another dub cast, making it three sets of voices for just four short movies, and stop taking it so damn serious.

9 years.

But that doesn't necessarily mean Nozawa is more popular or iconic.

Your DUB? What DUB? There are, like, seven English DUBs.

And if you mean the DUB of Z with the Texas cast, they've never been in on Movie 1 ANYWAY.

They have. Several times in the Japanese Kai and a few times in the original. Those complaints happened, but not enough to be very noticeable; let alone twice as much as you.

Like I said earlier all this complaining reminds me of how silly I looked complaining like this over a decade ago.

That is a stupid statement. Dan Castellaneta has been voicing Homer(The Simpsons) for 21 years, and Seth MacFarlane has been voicing Peter(Family Guy) for 12 years. Both are just as important to their respective series.

Geez, what's the deal with this forum lately? Too many threads are being derailed into petty arguments about things that are merely matter of opinion when it all comes down to it. Let's just be grateful we're finally getting a release of this movie. As long as they redid the script to be more accurate (which would make sense since they're taking the time to redub it in the first place) I'm sure it will be fine.
Trans rights, now!

Anyone ever hear Peter Kelamis as kid Goku in the flashback to the Red Ribbon Arc during the Jinzouningen Arc in DBZ? Maybe we should bring him on for kid Goku!

I completely agree. I've never seen Dragon Ball movie in any format. Japanese, old dub, nothing. It was hopeless to find any version of this movie in the states.

Now I can finally complete my Dragon Ball movie collection! I can't wait!
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

I can agree with you on that, at least.
To be fair, he's said that at least twice before, and one of those times was Arkham Asylum.

I'm excited for the new dub, I've been enjoying Dragon Ball Z Kai, it'll be strange but wonderful to hear the Kai cast during Dragon Ball.

Everything else?

Movie Two - Delgadillo
Movie Three - Delgadillo
TV series - Nadolny
10th Anniversary Movie - Nadolny
Movie One - Clinkenbeard

The cast is terribly inconsistent, so that's not even a reason to get upset. :/

The point is that after movies 2 and 3 were dubbed, Nadolny has been consistently voicing Kid Gokū (DB, DBGT, anniversary movie, video games).

It is what it is, and let's be real... There are far worse things happening in the world today, from wars to hunger, and we're here talking about how it's the end of the world that Nadolny isn't voicing Kid Goku, and about the dub vs. sub argument, and so on. Just be happy we're getting this released, and having a (hopefully) faithful script. This is more than what we can ask for.

Carry on.

True, but it really does get annoying that people can't just let it go. I mean, as much as we are a fan of this show and how dedicated we are to it, it will always just be a cartoon from Japan brought over here by a company that wants to gain money from it and to please those who appreciate that it's being released.

Well, you get the point. I personally will listen to the Japanese audio, and the dub for kicks, and I will go on and accept it.
